This was our 2nd C4K concert. It was amazing. Dana Z. is delightful. The music selections were great ones for the family. When Sheryl Williams performed, I got goosebumps! And the pianist's rendition of The Entertainer was nothing short of miraculous! We wished you'd been selling some CD's in the lobby! Loved the Q&A afterward as well.
This show had a lot of variety. Great for adults & kids alike. Exceeded our expectations!
Unfortunately, my 10 year old daughter was not engaged by the concert. We left at intermission. I think it would have been more dynamic to have some tunes immediately that kids knew so they would feel more connected to what was happening onstage. I loved the guest violinist and some of his pieces, very beautiful (but then, I'm 53 :) ).
Mark O'Connor's show was amazing and he did a great job of incorporating the orchestra, children performers, and audience. Mark's improvisation of Mr Tambourine Man was incredible and we are thankful to have had the chance to see him perform at such a great venue, the Balboa Theater.
