About

Cirque Berzerk was born out of the 80-mile-per-hour dust storms and searing 110 degree heat of the California Black Rock Desert's infamous annual subculture festival known as Burning Man.  It combines aerial acrobatics, fire elements, as well as other traditional circus performances with the emphasis on daring music, dance and acrobatics. Cirque Berzerk is much more than just a show—it's an entire evening experience for those who wish to escape the mundane.  Revelers describe Cirque Berzerk as an experience you enter...and never want to leave.

Cirque Berzerk takes a giant leap forward in its latest incarnation, offering a darker, sexier, more phantasmagoric experience in every way.   Stunning new global acts, fiery new choreography and bold new stage design all come to life understate-of-the-art sound and lighting.  It's an intoxicating spectacle, capturing a decadent descent into the gothic underworld.

"The sort of phantasmagoric spectacle Tim Burton would dream up if he quit film making and joined the circus." —The Los Angeles Times

"Viscerally more satisfying than any circus experience I've ever had." —Flaunt Magazine

"A post-rave, post-goth spectacle both in sound and appearance." —LA Weekly

    Wasted Money

by Grrr47 on 3/16/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

While the show itself was average, being overconceived for such a small venue and relatively unimpressive performance, the seating was terrible. We bought lower price tickets due to the uncertainty of the quality, having heard mixed reviews from friends. We bought the tickets based on the seating chart given at time of purchase and by the venue. We arrived to discover that the seating area was in fact not a seating area, but rather a standing space. Moreover, even though we had the best possible standing spot, the view of the performance was largely obscured by the balcony. We saw something like 1/3-1/2 of the performance, something that would have been anticipated by the production. While there were monitors displaying what we missed, these were small and far away. If we had wanted to watch tv, we could have stayed home and had a better view of our own set, perhaps with something better on it. Finally, I have to say, the whole goth theme could have been interesting if it hadn't taken the worst aesthetic elements and highlighted them. Don't waste your money. We left feeling cheated, and, if we hadn't been in such a hurry to leave, we would have demanded our money back.

    cirque berzerk

by BOBSMITH on 2/24/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

It was good , but I went in with mixed feelings. Would it be as good as it was year prior?? How could they top what was done by havingit inside a club. It was good, but fell short of the original time watching. It needs to be in a big top tent, bring it back to the Cornfield!

    Cirque Berzerk...Not so much.

by Christophario on 2/18/11Nokia Theatre - Los Angeles

I was really excited to see this show at the Nokia. The theatre was great, the set was great, the costumes were great, but that was about it. They had all this potential to put on a great show, but it ended there. The storyline was ridiculous and very slow. At one point there was some weird gay love triangle story going on. I couldn't figure it out. The songs were disappointing. And there wasn't much circus involved. The best part were the hot trampoline guys. Other than that a total snooze. Sorry Cirque Berzerk.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. As others have said in reviewing the show, the first half is better than the second half. But really, how can you beat the trampoline act that ended the first half? The aerialists were quite good - both the male/female pair and male/male pair were delightful to watch. The biggest problem was the seating. We were close to the stage but because the flooring/seating is not banked, it's difficult to see when a taller person or wider person, or even worse, a taller and wider person sits in front of you.

    Awesome

by Emartinez81 on 2/1/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

Cirque Berzerk was an incredible, surreal experience. Having missed it the previous year, it was nice to know they were back in town with a more polished act in a new venue. It was held at Club Nokia in an intimate setting, so pretty much every seat was a great seat. The perfomers were top notch with their cringing acrobatings, and the dancers, both male and female were sultry and playful. All in all, and most would agree, Cirque Berzerk has definitely matured in one year, from it's grungy location and motif, moving on to a polished, innovative theme. This show has incredible potential.
