Fans are blown away by Circa Survives' urgency on the stage; the post-hardcore band plays every note, chorus, and thrash as if it was their last, sating fans of high drama to the core with their merciless showmanship. With such fevered energy, everyone in the crowd is left speechless, but not all of that raw power is meant to be taken seriously – the band is known for their irreverent antics and wacky props, including oceans of confetti and beach balls that fall from the ceiling. With a massive 2013 tour of Asia under their belts, 2014 can only be a scorcher.
Formed outside of Philadelphia in 2004, Circa Survive consists of former members of the bands Saosin, This Day Forward, and Taken. The post-hardcore band released its debut record Juturna in 2005 on the venerable hardcore label Equal Vision Records, immediately stirring things up with their fresh approach to the genre. Following a quick rise and their 2010 major label debut on Atlantic Records, the band dialed it back a bit and refocused their energies, self-releasing 2012’s critically acclaimed Violent Waves. On tour in 2014, the band continues to floor fans with their adrenalin-filled live performances.
