I've seen CTK perform before and he is a great musician and peformer. For this performance at Lucille's Cafe at BB King's, he displayed his typical great range in music played, switching from blues to Johnny Cash-like beats to tribal african-inspired sounds. He played a mix of old and new material, including covers of "In a Constant Sorrow" and a vocal only of "Down to the River to Pray" (which haven't heard him perform before) from the OBWT soundtrack. He did not however play my favorite song- his version of "Hard TIme Killing Floor Blues"- from the soundtrack. The one negative was the performance was very short, so we felt like we did not get our $$$'s worth. We attended the 8pm set, and although we knew he had another set at 11pm, we thought he'd perform at least until 9:45pm. However, at 9:15pm he ended pretty abruptly, and staff said he needed 45min before the next performance (which didn't make sense if he wasn't performing until 11pm). Overall, pretty short performance for $30/pp tix (after fees) and I've seen him perform for way longer for much less. Guess we paid the BB King's-in-TSQ premium...
