    Chitty Chitty Bang Bang--Amazing!

by eboing on 7/27/09Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

My dad, cousin, and I went to see this. It was awesome. Intermission was short, and that's good, because I positively couldn't wait to see the rest of the show. To summarize it, the play is about an old race car that two children love to play in. It's in a junkyard. One day a man comes along and wants to buy it and crush it up for some strange reason that I forgot. Anyway, the children's father has to find a way to buy the car before the mean man does. I won't go into the details, but it's really funny how the poor inventor gets the money. He buys the car and fixes it up, and they name it Chitty Chitty Bang Bang because that's the sound it makes when they drive in it. Then Chitty takes them on an adventure.

I use to watch the movie and loved it. However, since seeing the stage production, the movie is not as enticing. In other words, I loved the stage production. It was wonderful..There is no replacing live theater with a strong cast and a fine orchestra.

    Fun time at DSM

by RowlettFan on 7/22/09Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The cast and orchestra were great. Fun story that I had forgotten. Also technically brilliant with the flying car being the highlight. Take a kid with you to remind you of how exciting a show like this can be to them.

    Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

    by Star1 on 7/20/09ASU Gammage - Tempe

This play was one of the best I've ever seen. The children were great actors as well as the adults. It was worth seeing just to experience how they made the car fly - I couldn't see any wires from our location which was in the 9th row! My only regret is that I didn't take my grandchildren to this play. They would have loved it.
