Absolutely, loved it! The jazz band was amazing and the play was funny. Full of great singing and choreography. Saw it twice and will definitely see it again when they come back to Los Angeles!
The show was good, kind of strange that there literally was no set just the orchestra on stage. The audience was terrible. People go to the theater like they are going to the movies now. Dressed barely better than pajamas and constantly getting up. (Actually people get up less at the movies) Most of audience ran out the door during curtain call! So rude to the performers.
Out of all my musical experience, this was the least entertaining.
This was a gift my sisters and I gave to my mom. It was amazing from beginning to end.!! we laughed. We sang and wanted to move in our seats.!!
The show was fantastic. The cast and music were so fun and alive. the chores was great and loved the slower focused routines.
My family of 4 saw this at the Pantages in LA recently. The whole show was incredible. Perfectly polished with stunning performances by every single actor on stage. My kids (12 & 13), who are musical theatre kids, loved the simplicity of the show in terms of the band being right on stage and the minimal sets and props. It was also fun to see the Fosse choreo, which was all gorgeously executed. Wish we could see it again!
My two cents: I was ever so excited to watch Chicago for the very first time since it’s revival back in 1996. Perhaps in the first decade, the show was truly spectacular, spectacular (I’ll never know). I loved the music, of course and I loved the talented cast but what I didn’t love was that the background for stage or the stage setting; they brought out props to use but the band was on the stage the entire time. That would’ve been OK if the stage had changed the scenery every once in a while, but it hardly ever changed! I mean, I loved the band as well; they were a central part of the show! It’s just that the only real change that took place was at the end performance, when they dropped down a gold Tinsel curtain. I felt a bit disappointed, actually, more than just a bit; I didn’t expect to be disappointed at all because I guess I was expecting something along the lines of Moulin Rouge, the musical. The fact that there wasn’t any real set design didn’t take away much from the music and the talent but didn’t add to it either. I just wished it were more exciting and with actual razzle dazzle. Unless or until the whole musical is redesigned, I think I am done. It’s quite unfortunate because I was planning to watch it again; I was expecting more. That’s my 2¢.
Chicago was an amazing experience, the cast . The Pantages was well kept. I had an amazing time.
Absolutely amazing. I don't know why I waited so long. The cast was phenomenal too. The voices, out of this world. Can't wait to see it again.
