    Outstanding performer

by cher33 on 10/17/21Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

Had a great time to listening to him and his group at Jimmy's Jazz Club. Very welcomed by the staff in a building that has been wonderfully restored. Despite being disappointed by Elvin Bishop's absence, we were notified that he was unable to perform by the Jazz Club which is unheard of in this day in age. We were able to talk to a live person who called us back to give us more details. Since we were not elite members, customers should be advised of the obstructed views and had to rely on big screen viewing of the concert. Wonderful place, great staff. Now that I have heard Charlie Musselwhite, someday I may see him.

    Loved the event

by Bloozy on 10/16/21Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

The venue is drop dead beautiful. The performing artist was spectacular. Service was on point. Drinks were good, but choose carefully. Markup is high on some, but not all. Food was meh. Not really dinner, not really snacks. Well prepared and presented, but a bit like a wedding reception tasting menu. More finger food would better suit the venue. Perhaps they need to think about offering a full menu from 6-8 and a snack/bar/tapas/heavy hors d'oeuvres until close? Or a pre show discount at one of the other family’s restaurants?

Charlie gave a truly awesome blues show.

by Lynn on 10/16/21Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

Venue is an intimate setting with a good sound system. Food was tasty but a very limited menu and serving size was small. My complaint is when we purchase our tickets it did not say obstructed view. We were seated at the bar and our view of the stage was a brick wall. Nothing on ticketmaster showed this brick wall. Had to watch the stage via the large tv monitors, but sound was great. Can't wait to go back again

Not the show that was advertised.

by Sally on 10/16/21Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club - Portsmouth

Although Charlie Musselwhite and his band are very talented, I paid to see Charlie perform with Elvin Bishop. When Bishop backed out, Ticketmaster or the venue did not inform ticket holders. And when Charlie and the band took the stage, there was no mention made of his absence. Very disappointing.

    Blues Masters---MASTERFUL

by DebbieGlassberg on 10/25/16Stiefel Theatre - Salina

I've been to the Blues Masters 3 other times in the last 10 years. My partner Todd Nelson introduced me to Chad and Lydia, (Jasmine was in the Belly then) and I was happy to know such an amazing talented couple. Chad has been his good friend and even worked with Chad in the early years of Blue Heaven. This year was spectacular-intimate and amazing, I've seen many live performances, but nothing like this one...I am looking forward to next year already!

Art Deco theater worth the trip

by nekkidinkansas on 10/25/16Stiefel Theatre - Salina

The venue was wonderful. The art deco building and decor was a trip back in time. Great, enthusiastic audience. Each group of musicians played long sets. There was also a variety of blues styles performed. It was a great opportunity to see 'Old School' and the 'Gonna be big someday' Marquise Knox.

    Sweet, but short

by Musicandfunlover on 5/17/16Skagit Valley Casino Pacific Showroom - Bow

We loved the show. Charlie's voice sounded great and of course his harmonica playing was fabulous. His lead guitar was absolutely amazing! Great song choices were made, but there just wasn't enough of them. Just under 90 minutes, it was the shortest show I've ever been to. I wanted more!
