Could have done a better job

by GolferGal117 on 11/15/17Phoenix Country Club - Phoenix

The parking and shuttle buses were awesome. The course is beautiful. However, there was way too much catering (read pandering) to the more wealthy (or lucky) attendees who had the special Charles Schwab tickets. If you didn't have that, you couldn't really see the 18th green due to the massive grandstands that were erected just for said ticket holders. You also couldn't find the bathrooms reserved for us working people. And when you finally did, there were no separate facilities for men and women - just plain old stinky port-a-johns. After using these lovely little rooms, the water pump at the "sink" barely worked - which you don't realize until you've squirted soap all over your hands. $12 for a cocktail and $7 for a plain hot dog on a cold bun really kind of ruined the great feeling of getting a ticket for just $25. Next year, planners really need to think through how they treat their "general ticket holders"

    Great job!

by Sylackl on 11/14/17Phoenix Country Club - Phoenix

Inspite of the information that was available about spectator parking, we found the “execution” of the plan to be lacking. This was especially in regards to you couldn’t take the carrying bag for portable chairs into the ventue, resulting in being turned away at the loading space for spectators. After we left the bags in our car, we departed. We were told to meet the bus in the same location as where we were left off. The problem began when we were ready to depart. After asking directions from 4 different volunteers, we were miss directed to a long distance away from that location. After two additional attempts to get a cart to transport us to the correct location as my husband was near collapse, Mike ? (Director of Transportation) stepped up, taking us safely back to the spectator parking. Thank you PGA for having such caring people and please note that Mike saved the day for us. Well done, Mike

    Fantastic Venue!

by 4over on 11/14/17Phoenix Country Club - Phoenix

The beautiful lush Phoenix Country Club was the perfect venue for the 2017 Charles Schwab Cup! The central location, ease of parking, and ready and waiting shuttle made getting to the course trouble-free and in a matter of minutes. (Although we were refused immediate entry to the course by overzealous security personnel attempting to enforce an unknown rule regarding purses/bags), once inside, the layout of the sponsor sites and vendor tents were steps away from the action of play. The course allowed for easy walking from hole to hole and close viewing of the pros and their fantastic shots. What a much-improved venue for the Charles Schwab Tournament!

    These guys still have it

by ZAGT on 11/13/17Phoenix Country Club - Phoenix

I really like getting close up to these guys to see their swings and techniques. They are amazing. I parked in the Veterans lot and they did a good job getting to and from the course. It was very nice experience except where they dropped us off was way to far from the event requiring a 1500 yard walk to the main area. Then another 600 yards to the practice range. Could hardly walk the next day.

    Schwab Cup

by 4672 on 11/13/17Phoenix Country Club - Phoenix

We had perfect weather & the course was great. Fun to see the golfers up close. The food choices were awful & very expensive. Not happy paying $11 for a prepackaged, high calorie muffin & some water. Also, the rules on what you can bring in are very restrictive but we talked to attendees who brought in chairs in bags, had large purses & even their own refillable water bottles. Aggravating.

    My First PGA Tournament

by AZBarbara on 11/11/15Desert Mountain Club - Scottsdale

This was my first time going to any PGA tournament. We went on Thursday and also on Sunday. Loved the $20.00 cash cards for the PGA store. The tournament was very well run, with smooth transitions from hole to hole. Great pro-shop offerings, and we came away with $150.00 worth of great Charles Schwab golf shirts. Loved the speedy play-off. My husband and I walked the 18 holes, and enjoyed watching various well-known golfers. We were confused about our "seating" and were told at admissions that we did not have real seats, just random numbers were listed on tickets. The only bad review applies to the food. Very limited selections, ugh hot dogs, hamburgers. And no gluten free offerings for my hubby. And please use taller plastic cups for the wine. The low ones are very hard to keep the wine in the cup while you walk from hole to hole. We will come back next year to see if you have taller cups for wine, ha ha.

Love Desert Mountain & watching the Champions Tour

by VinceJoanne on 11/11/15Desert Mountain Club - Scottsdale

Love the intimate viewing pleasure of getting up close to the Champion Tour players. And especially love the opportunity to walk and visit the Desert Mountain Golf Club in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. They make the event very pleasurable to watch and experience one of the most scenic golf courses in the country. Also, they even open up the golf pro shop so I can purchase Desert Mountain apparel. What an awesome place and event!!!!
