    Champions Challenge

by jrbutlersr on 3/25/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Very enjoyable event. Great to see former champions and competitors play against one another. I look forward to attending again in the future. The players were very fan friendly and interacted with the crowd during and after play.

    Loved it!

by tennisbuf on 3/17/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

If this is a recurring event, I hope you bring it back next year! I really enjoyed seeing some of my old favorites play tennis, though they may not appreciate that description! I do wish it had begun on time and ended at the time advertised as it was on a work night. If it will go so late, it needs to be on a night that we do not have to go to work the next day...

It was so great to see the tennis legends play. I would love to go to another PowerSharesSeries event sometime soon. I am recommending to my family and friends.

    Great show, horrible seat

by illzoni on 3/16/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed seeing the quality tennis those guys performed. And the light-hearted manner seemed to make it even more fun. My seat was horrible. I was in section 115, Row CC. I believe those are temporary seats added for such events. The row in front of us was actually on stackable office chairs. The seat itself probably would've been pretty good, except that as soon as I put any weight on it (I'm 205#) it would flex at the mounting point and drop significantly. Pretty sad when I guy with 29" inseam has to sit with his knees higher than his hips!

A great night for tennis fans.

    by Titan9 on 3/16/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

If you were watching pro tennis in the 80's, you know it doesn't get any better than seeing McEnroe, Lendl, Connors, and Pat Cash all play in one evening. The show started out by playing highlights of all the players in his prime, and then made introductions for the first match. This is 2014 though, , and Pat Cash was the youngest at 47, Lendl and McEnroe are mid 50s, and Connors is about 61. First impressions were how great of shape they were all in. Lendl looked way bigger than I expected. He looked like he could play linebacker. Pat Cash was totally ripped with muscles everywhere. McEnroe was smaller than I expected, but he was lean and in good shape. Connors, wearing slacks instead of shorts, looked good for 61 and 3 hip replacements. (McEnroe later said he thought he was playing Don Budge. ) Overall, it was very entertaining. Lendl cut up with a few hecklers, and even invited one to come show him how it's done (the guy declined.) Pat Cash was fun. He brought a little kid out of the stands to play a point with Lendl, and the kid was good. Later, after a woman yelled, "Take your shirt off!" He did. At the end of the match, he was asked about it, and he said, "Some lady asked me to take my shirt off...and then she said, "Put it back on!" Joking, he said, "What kind of southern hospitality is that?" McEnroe clowned around a little too. After hitting a shot between his legs, he said, "I have 6 kids already, and I don't need anymore." To sum it up, if you're a tennis fan and haven't seen these guys play live before, I highly recommend you go see them. It was a great time, and brought back lots of good memories of all four champions.

    Historic event!

by NPGbrian on 3/16/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

I'm so glad that we didn't miss this event... The first time that McEnroe and Connors had faced off in 15 years! Fun night and well-produced event.

    Tweener

by Metheme on 3/15/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

The matches were great. Relaxed. Great shots. Fun commentary by these legendary players. Great shots. And Lendl, Cash, Connors, McEnroe. Come on, I cannot be more serious. (McEnroe hit a tweener too. That's something you don't see every day.)

    great fun, started late though

by dixiehellcat on 3/15/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

It was great to watch legends of sport compete against each other. The first match started 45 min late though, which meant since it was a work night I could not stay for the whole event. Also, I wish the court could have been miked, because we couldn't hear the talk and banter down there.

    Most disappointing

    by Ock44 on 3/15/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

Very disappointing. I think it was rigged. The level of play was not near what we all expected. It would have helped if the players had been miked for entertainment value anyway.

    disappointing

by kener on 3/15/14Bridgestone Arena - Nashville

As a major tennis fan, getting to watch 4 of the greats should be a terrific experience. Well the best part was sitting among all of our fellow tennis players from Nashville, not the show on the court. A poor production on the part of Powershare Tennis Series. This should have been really fun, not only for the players but the audience. We could see the players interacting with fans in the front rows, but could hear nothing. The players weren't mic'd, there were no court mics except for the chair umpire, so the match was basically silent. We were only a few rows from the court but we could have been a few miles because the atmosphere was the same. Empty. Cameras were there, so watching the players speak and hearing nothing was like a silent movie. Secondly, there were some good points being played, but deciding to sell seats in the entire arena was a joke. People were scattered so far apart instead of being concentrated around the court to enhance the event. Price accordingly, provide good entertainment, understand the dynamics of a good tennis crowd, and fill the bowl. I've been to plenty of tennis events and this was a huge disappointment.
