    A "tubular"concert

by Violist who love the Brass on 11/30/23Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

We really enjoyed the Canadian Brass concert at Bergen PAC. It's the 3rd (or maybe 4th) time we have gone to a Canadian Brass concert. It was a bit sad to see so few in the audience, but those of us who attended got a more personalized concert. My group and I had a great time and wish that it had been a longer performance. Thanks.

Always excellent musicianship with intelligent humor

by Music Aficionada on 11/21/22Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - Skokie

Canadian Brass always delivers excellent musicianship with intelligent humor. The center theater itself looked a bit industrial and shabby; the lobby was lovely.

    Excellent Musicians

by Louise on 12/1/21Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Very happy to see Chuck Dallenbach in person once again. His expertise on the tuba is legendary. (How do you turn that instrument 360 degrees without losing your embouchure?) Chuck’s promotion of the versatility of his tuba deserves thanks from all tuba players and their fans. William Bell (once my dad’s teacher) would be proud. The “new guys” are also really incredible musicians. There are no words to describe Caleb’s unbelievable mastery of the piccolo trumpet. Brandon is phenomenal on trumpet and apparently also an arranger. Greek Achilles is an amazing trombone player and, not surprisingly, well known world wide. The great talent of Canadian Jeff has (not surprisingly) graced his musicianship several orchestras around the world. A truly great night of music and story telling. Thank you.

    Canadian Brass at CY

by Dave on 12/6/19Stephens Auditorium - Ames

It was one of the best concerts I have attended at Stephens Auditorium. We sat very close to the stage and, being a brass player myself, I was very much inspired by their technical abilities and purity of tone.

    Superb Musicians

by Fred32 on 3/24/15Tucson Music Hall - Tucson

The Canadian Brass are all superb musicians. They showed their talent on songs from Carmen and The Saints go Marching In. They also blended with the symphony orchestra very well. My only reservation is that they did not play enough music that featured brass. More Jazz or Swing (Benny Goodman) would have done so. The first set was mostly symphony orchestra with them playing the brass parts. The second set after intermission was better with the 2 encores the best.

    We'd do it again

by Golfbuddyjd on 3/24/15Tucson Music Hall - Tucson

Very Entertaining! These guys are very personable and have amazing talent. Enjoyed the music immensely. After the concert Mr Coletti was kind enough to spend time talking to my son and his friend about trumpet playing and auditioning for music schools. Wish they would come to Mesa soon.

This concert was excellent. They are great musicians and also know how to "put on a good show." It was great fun to hear and watch. Would definitely go to see them again.

    Disappointing

by AZDuster on 3/24/15Tucson Music Hall - Tucson

The Tucson symphony seems to feel that Coplon is good music. WRONG. They kicked off a brass concert with this composer's wandering piece of bad music. Then when the leader of the Brass addressed the audience he couldn't be heard in the balcony. Part of their performance is the comedic quips of the leader but the sound tech never increased the microphone volume when the man was speaking. Then the Brass played big band/old movie/opera music instead of foot stomping brassy pieces. Maybe it was the VERY senior age of the audience. All white hair. It souned like a high school marching band playing Mozart but out of step and tune. It will be my last Tucson Symphony performance. It has become too predictable, too second rate and a second rate conductor.
