    camping with gasoline

by satisfiu on 11/15/12Casa Manana - Fort Worth

Although some parts of the show were amusing, Mr. Williams used the same manerisum of the the charactor from the tuna shows. I was hoping for something new but was disappointed...

My husband and I laughed until our sides ached. We especially felt a kinship to the Boy Scout Stories.

Loved this one man show. Jaston's storytelling talent is like none other. Loved it!

Wish someone would've struck a match!

by slkdnel on 11/5/12Casa Manana - Fort Worth

How disapointing! I bought tickets to this show for my husband's birthday thinking it would be funny and thought my husband would enjoy the bits about father and sons, camping experiences and the Boy Scout experience. It wasn't funny. It was like listening to someone record a book on tape... only live - BORING! He barely talked about fatherhood or camping and his Scouting experience was more of a "you should've been there - it was funny at the time" moments. We lived in West Texas for many years, and let me tell you NO ONE there (or anywhere else I've ever been) uses that many adjectives or talks using the "creative" language that Mr. Williams uses in his story telling. He takes the "southern drawl" to the extreme by making a 4 word sentence turn into an overly discriptive run-on that by the time he concludes you forgot what he was talking about to begin with. The only "slightly" funny bits were when he took on his previous "Southern woman personality (aka Nadine). Perhaps he should get back into his high heels or teach a creative writing class.

    We love Jaston Williams!

This was very different from the Tuna plays but very entertaining. Jaston's experiences draw the audience in and allow one to to feel like an active participant.

    Campining with gasoline

by teppy63 on 11/5/12Casa Manana - Fort Worth

Awesomeness, funny, candid, up close personal, casual, intimate, as a guest visiting in our home. Was however expecting wardrobe changes with each segment as seen in past times,as the poster advertisement depicted ie. fly swatter and yellow raingear. ha/ha. Staff at casa manana was excellent, as we were slightly late for the event and they made us very comfortable and let us know it was not going to be a problem whatsoever! The story about "the boy" was very moving. We are wishing he and Kevin only the best in their endeavors with raising their child, he is in a very loving home I know......thank you for a terrific experience, cant wait for the next one!!!

It was a great show--I really like that you get a gimps of how he really is. I do miss the highheels--he wore them better than most women LOL Can't wait to see TRU in January when it opens in Austin--going to make the trip just to see!!

Jaston Williams is a comic genius!!

by travelinphule on 11/5/12Casa Manana - Fort Worth

The play was a trip down memory lane to Mr. Williams' childhood. His portrayal of his mother was terrific; but the second act was even funnier. When he talks about Boy Scout Camp and the Flaming Arrows, I laughed so hard I almost forgot to breathe!! If you loved the Tuna plays, you must go see Camping with Gasoline.

    Tuna it ain't

by Lovedtuna on 11/5/12Casa Manana - Fort Worth

This show had its moments, but much of it was read from a podium, like a book reading, rather than acting out the characters. The subject matter is very personal, and more touching/nostalgic than funny. Dee dee snavley is not in attendance.
