    All that remains was excellent

    by MAB87 on 10/10/13Jones Park - Gulfport

This wasn't the best cpr I've been to but it still kicked ass i would have rated it 5 stars but they held it outside during hurricane season so the chances of rain were higher and if they would have had one more great band it would have been worth 5 stars

GULF PORT RAINY DAY CPR FEST SHOW

by VALOQUEEN on 10/2/13Jones Park - Gulfport

I dove a little over 400 miles to finaly see/hear my favorite band from finland : H.I.M !!!! The night before the show when i arrived the weather was very pleasent . As i arose day of the show i was not thrilled to see rain outside my hotel window but i kept my positive attitude hoping for a ray of sun...that never appeard. Being such a H.I.M fan i made my way to the park at 9am..yes 9am..i wanted to be sure to be up front when VILLE and the guys hit the stage. it turned out to be a long wet day but i did discover some new cool bands along the way that did an awsome job of keeping us poor wet die hard fans going. so i must give props to the following groups : Longreef , candel light red and Cathercist . Longreef played a tune I thought worthy of mentioning called : Dirty Hotel ...and they had a good energy vibe that spred over the crowd. Even wet and slightly chiled the whole audience gave these bands plenty of screams and applause . these bands also invited everyone to their merchandise tents after their performances so you could meet them ! Very cool !!! so thanks to Longreef, candel light red and Cathercist...and p.s to cathercist's lead singer ( name unknown currently ?? )...you have some strong vocals there !!!! i just dont know any of your songs yet. Now down to the H.I.M SHOW !!!! It seemed to take Forever to get their stage equipment set up !!!! but finnaly sometime after 8pm they came out to play !!!!! Ville said "good evening" to us all...then they began...I can not recall the order that the songs were played in but at least they played two of my favorites. one being : Into the night from their latest cd : Tears on tape and the other a cover of Wicked game !!! and low and behold...the rain let up for awhile !!!! looking around me at the crowd i could see happy H.I.M FANS !!! and awed H.I.M FANS !! i fell somewhere in the totaly satisfied I drove here to see them play mode !!! it was worth every mile !!!! even if there had been a freak snow storm i would not not have missed this show. !!! my only complaints : the security/workers could have been more helpfull/informitive for they seemed to know nothing when you asked them anything. the fest people should have had more - LOTS MORE - advertisments around the area !! I mean i saw NO banners/signs or posters anywhere around the area and I stayed within a 10 mile area of the park !!!!! Acsess for those driving was a bit difficult ,though parking was not a problem. Hats off to all the friendly and polite fans I did meet !!!! Yes, I'd do it again in a heart beat !!! So to H.I.M I SAY " PLEASE COME PLAY ALOT MORE SHOWS IN MISSISSIPPI....OR AT LEAST ONE IN MEMPHIS TN !!!!!! YOU ARE THE COOOLEST BAND !!!

    the bands were great, but...

The bands were great, but I can't believe the mud was even worse than last year... Not a very good location for large gatherings of people.

    CPR Fest 17

All the bands were amazing. I was more partial to All That Remains, Nonpoint, and Volbeat. My girlfriend and I had an amazing time.

    Great

by Anonymous on 9/25/13Jones Park - Gulfport

Good over all line up. All that Remains put on the best show as far as, crowd response and everyone i talked to said they were here for ATR. Volbeat headlining was good, they ended it right. Muddy and rainy as all hell, but if it wasnt terrible weather it wouldnt be real music fest.

volbeat and soil were the best

    by bishop8788 on 9/24/13Jones Park - Gulfport

Him played as though he didn't want to be there and looked to be stoned if not drunk. I do cnfess however to not being a huge fan of his music. Soil was great the lead singer was humble enough to come off stage and mix it up with the crowd which impressed me. Of curse volbeat put on the greatest show of the night, and made it all worthwhile.

    CPR fest totally rocked

    by bananaboat77 on 9/24/13Jones Park - Gulfport

CPR fest 17 was an absolute blast this year. Despite the rain and mud, the whole day was thoroughly enjoyable. Security was top notch, even if a small backpack purse wasn't allowed in. The portable toilets were plentiful. The line up was amazing. HIM wasn't that great, they should've been earlier in the day with a shorter set. But Volbeat ending the day was totally kick ass. I used to be an avid voodoo fest attendee but I've finally found a music fest worth going to. The ticket prices were great and worth it. I absolutely love that you could bring chairs in...that was a serious joy given the mud and wet conditions.
