Incredible.
by kalliopeia on 10/13/12The Warfield / Best Buy Theater - San Francisco / New York CityI've been a fan of B'z for many years, and unfortunately missed two chances to see them live in previous years. So when I heard that they were coming to the US again this year, I was ecstatic. I first saw them at The Warfield in San Francisco, and they just blew me away. Inaba's voice, energy, and charisma were amazing! I've never been to a concert where the vocalist was so on the entire night. And hearing Tak's guitar in real life was... well, I'm at a loss of words to describe it right now. He's not a showy/expressive performer (compared to other guitarists), but he doesn't need to be, because he lets the music speak for itself. As luck would have it, I later found out that I would be in New York during the weekend B'z was scheduled to play there. I really wanted to go to the show, but tickets were sold out! Thankfully, they became available again on Ticketmaster two days before the show, so I was able to go. They played the same setlist and even wore the same/similar clothes, but the second time around was even better than the first! As a small criticism, I agree with other reviewers who wish they would sing more songs in Japanese rather than English. Inaba's English is great, and I like the English renditions of their songs. But as a fan who had never seen them live before, I still would've preferred to hear those songs in Japanese. Overall though, these were two of the best concerts I've ever been to, and they showed clearly why B'z is the most successful band in Japanese history. I've seen several other top Japanese bands live as well, and even though they were also great, B'z was just on another level with the finesse of their performance. I really hope they come back to the US again in the near future!!
