Cool cats Christmas show .. So much talent and lots of fun!

Hate to be the Grinch but this was the third Gotham Holiday Swing we've attended and was nowhere near as good as the first two. Too much Gotham: not enough Holiday, not enough Swing. Please bring back Vince Giordano.

Super enjoyable evening! Henry Butler is amazing. The music was excellent and the host quirky and fun. Will look to attend this every year.

Buster Poindexter was a funny and clever host and the jazzy Bernstein & The Hot 9 band jammed to perfection for almost 3hrs! This is one of the best bands we've ever heard along with a fabulous stream of guests, we will definitely not miss this show next year. Thank you Town Hall!

Loved Buster's show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia. He still has the voice, the stage presence and the swagger. I would have preferred a larger band with horns, but the 4-piece band was spot-on professional. The sound man was also spot-on, as the sound level and mix was perfect. The music hall was, disappointingly, only about half-full, but Buster gave a great show. He seemed a bit confused as to where he was playing, though. Although he was in a suburb of DC (in Virginia), he seemed to think he was in the deep south.

My wife, 7-year-old son, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Buster Poindexter and his band at the Birchmere! The venue was great and even though we definitely had the youngest audience member with our group, we were totally comfortable. The band was fabulous and Buster is just a marvelous entertainer. The repertoire was inspired, the sound was great, and we even got to meet Buster and his band afterwards!! It was an experience we won't soon forget!!

It was obvious from the moment he walked on stage that Buster Poindexter was there to have a good time. And a good time was had by all. The band was tight, the songs were outstanding (and sometimes hilarious), and the steady stream of jokes and monologues between the songs made the evening as intimate as if it were happening in someones living room rather than a mid-size club.

An energetic and enjoyable show. "Buster" remains in fine voice and his band is great. They played for 2 hours with no break and clearly enjoyed the venue and the audience. We'll be watching for him to return to the Birchmere in the future.

Although the opening act ("Loveshack" from Vegas) was great, Poindexter was a great disappointment. His stage presence was dreadfully arrogant. The music was more appropriate for a lounge act for seniors than for a dance floor on New Year's Eve.

Could-a, should-a, picked something else. I had much higher expectations for this resort in their choice of entertainment.
