Buffy Sainte-Marie Tickets

My friend and I were surprised that the concert was a tribute to Buffy and not her own concert - we were not informed in advance that the concert had changed so dramatically before we arrived. The performers were excellent and I was impressed by everyone who performed. My main complaints are to the logistics of the event. We were located in the balcony and there were 3 high stage lights shining directly into our eyes for the entire concert!! Not only that, but the grid that held the upper lights that were shining directly into our eyes also blocked every single screen that was showing the videos that honoured our beloved Buffy. For the amount of $$ I spent on tickets to see Buffy, I was terribly unimpressed by the logistics of this concert. Obviously the people who set up the lights did not take those of us in the balcony into consideration at all. Very VERY disappointed!!!!!!

The introduction and opening act were very enjoyable. The privilege of hearing Buffy Sainte-Marie words was uplifting. However, the sound mix was very poor and so over-the-top loud that, despite wearing earplugs, it was simply uncomfortable. It was with great chagrin that we had to leave early because the volume caused us such physical discomfort. We noticed several people holding their hands to their ears as we departed. I can only hope Ms Sainte-Marie will be advised of this so future fans aren't also forced to leave early.

What an incredible show. Backed by an excellent band, Buffy's talent and energy are impressive. She performed songs from many eras, from albums of the late 60s to recent tunes. She is a multi-instrumentalist and I loved seeing a woman play electric guitar, as well as mouth bow, keyboards and guitar. Buffy can't hit the high notes anymore but her voice is still powerful. I was amazed to learn on our way home that she is 76. She sang, played, and danced with high energy and passion and it was a wonderful show.
