Continue to try to attend all Broadway shows at Town Hall! So entertaining! Such talent! Ann Coughlin
Many of the songs were targeted for those in the audience that were much older than I am. The prior shows, based on what is found on youtube were so much better. The show that I went to focus on Broadway songs and skits from the 1930s and 1940s, which made it very difficult for me to relate to. However, there were some skits that were fantastic, such as the tap dancing skits. These tap dancing skits gave it a modern touch and was something that I made the evening worthwhile.
All in all, the show was good, but I was expecting more show tunes from the past two decades. Many of the tunes were over 40 years old. However, the tap dancing skits were amazing and made the evening very special for me and my wife.
As a former Broadway performer and now voice teacher, I look forward all year to these wonderful shows. One of my longest term students and I make an annual event of this, and each year it exceeds our expectations. This year was no exception, except for one act, which was so original and exhilarating I haven't stopped thinking about it:, Noah Racey and the NY Song and Dance Co.......WOW! Unamplified singing and tap dancing to the unlikely Cole Porter song "I've Got You Under My Skin"......all I can say is "You had to be there!" Already looking forward to next year's version!
