It Ended On An Oily Stage

by sleepchant on 4/23/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

The power and ridiculousness of BSP's records translated brilliantly live. The songs on the new record, which I would characterize as wildly uneven, fit nicely with the rest of the set and provided interesting textures. Epic pithy.

    Best live show in years

by gordonsmc on 4/23/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Seriously, the sound was good (Webster, you=suck), small enough venue to see the band from everywhere, the guys&the girl really put it all out, played for 2 hours with no stops, really connected with the audience, great ambience, good mix of old and new songs. The kid from the band was outside before the show peddling CDs and mugs (got two, because I am greedy (2 for 1) and have a girlfriend). The only complaint - the late start (11 pm). But the important thing is that the band is back and is great. Great live too.

    BSP was amazing again

British Sea Power was amazing. They sounded great and had amazing energy and it got even better when Eamon joined them on stage.

    British Sea Power

by Briandmage on 4/1/11Cedar Cultural Center - Minneapolis

BSP were in fine form. They have so many great songs in their repertoire, including the new materiel, their set list was awesome. The Cedar is a lovely venue, and the sound was great. The opening band, A Classic Education was charming and a perfect fit with BSP. Surprising the turnout wasn't better, but those in attendance were appreciative.

Awful sound mixing, does anyone agree?

by Linkzor on 3/24/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

I walked out. The sound was absolutely deafening and the vocals trampled on everything else. It was clear the singer was recovering from some throat ailment, too, but I'm blaming this one on the sound. Really disappointed.

There was plenty of action on stage. A mix of their old and new songs! A highlight for me was definitely when they played Skua. They actually talked to us and all that. I'm still just getting over seeing them!
