The concert was great. There should not be individual chairs snapped together to form rows A and B. It was very claustrophobic and hard to see.
We had a great experience. Everyone was helpful, friendly and very nice. It was a great experience.
The Boston Pops were wonderful. We enjoyed the entire concert.
The concert was awesome! The music was great and they added in just the right amount of fun. I hope they do it again next year!
With maestro Keith Lockhart at the helm, this was a wonderful, witty, and engaging evening of music and choir. The perfection of the Pops was in full swing and there were surprises of comedy scattered through out the performance. I left full of holiday spirit and look forward to attending future performances. We are indeed fortunate to have the Pops in New Hampshire during the hoildays.
I didn't pay for tickets to listen to a great PA system - I paid to hear a great orchestra. Unfortunately, we really couldn't hear the orchestra except through the speaker stack at stage right. It's really not the same. Part of this might be the venue - hockey stadiums aren't great acoustically, and the perimeter seating wasn't ideal. Part of the problem was the sound system's design. It wasn't reinforcing the orchestra - it was replacing it. The speaker stacks were hung well forward of the proscenium, but a properly designed system hangs them no further than the edge. It was also too loud, completely drowning out the orchestra. Done right, the volume level would be set so that the audience can't even tell there's a sound system being used. It just reinforces the natural sound. The seating was another problem. The area in front of the stage was reserved for large round tables rather than seats. The cost to sit there was prohibitive, and if you were unlucky enough to be seated with your back to the stage, you'd have to turn away from your friends. It would have been a much better experience if all the seating was in rows on the "ice"area. We were seated at floor level about center-ice, and got stiff necks looking to the left for two hours.
We really enjoyed attending the Boston Pops holiday performance, as it was a festive and first class concert. The choir that performed was also wonderful, and they sang an amazing and most entertaining version of the 12 days of Christmas! We do wish the Pops would have played a few more traditional songs of Christmas, and the concert was only ~ 2 hours total so wish they could have played a little longer. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys this genre of music, it will definitely bring you ample helpings of holiday joy!
We had a great time taking in the breath taking orchestra and choir. It was a festive atmosphere and kicked off the holidays!
What can you say about the Boston Pops. They always deliver! I would go just to hear their and the Metropolitan Chorale's version of "Twelve Days of Christmas". A real treat!!!
