About

The 11th annual Boston Bhangra Competition will take place on Saturday, November 22nd, 2014 at the world renowned Orpheum Theatre. Boston Bhangra will host 12 of the best bhangra teams from North America who will compete to be crowned the Boston Bhangra Champions! The last 10 years of the show have been very successful with strong support from sponsors and has sold out with an attendance of 3,000 people!

Bhangra is a folk dance from the state of Punjab and parts of Pakistan. It is a very energetic and fun dance to watch. It has been compared to a fusion of hip hop and cheer-leading with a cultural twist. It has been integrated into many hip hop/reggae songs, and is one of the most upcoming foreign dance forms in the world!

We will also have special guest performances by Bhangra superstar Benny Dhaliwal from the UK.

This is one of the fastest growing forms of music/dance in the world! Don't miss out on seeing some of the best competitors out there!

    Bangra explodes onto the stage

by Henen on 11/17/15Orpheum Theatre - Boston

Explosive is the word I have for this dancing. The teams were awesome: colorful, athletic, inspiring. The audience was enthusiastic. I wish they had a better sound system and also I wish they could find a better venue but the dancing was great.

    fun but very delayed!

    by ThatGirl68 on 11/12/12Orpheum Theatre - Boston

Why bother saying that the show will start at 6pm, when it actually did not start until 6:45? We found out long after we arrived that this show is rarely on time. Also the intermission was supposed to be 15 minutes and it was more like 40 minutes. If the organizers cannot be on time then at least tell the people who shelled out money for tickets to expect long delays.
