    Bootsy Collins Halloween Show

by Oaktowngee on 11/1/17Howard Theatre - Washington

This wasn’t so much a show as a party. People were dressed in costumes of course, but Bootsy didn’t actually perform. I did get to meet him, which was the trill of the night for me. I would have liked to know that he wouldn’t be performing. The Clones of Funk were a good band and they played all of Parliament-Funkadelic hits (cover band too close to the actual act). The venue was nice and I always have a good time at the Howard Theatre.

    Bootsy was amazing!

    by LT3000 on 11/1/17Howard Theatre - Washington

I had a ball meeting the legend Bootsy Collins at the Howard for his Funkiest Halloween Party and album release on October 28. The Clones of Funk played a ton of Parliament-Funkadelic hits. Bootsy came out and did his thing, but it was a magical, magical night.

    Bootsy Didn't Play

    by Xerxes725 on 11/1/17Howard Theatre - Washington

The event was titled "Bootsy Collins Hosts Funkiest Halloween Party featuring the Clones of Funk." I bought tickets based on the assumption that this would be a Bootsy Collins show and that he would be playing live on stage. Instead it turns out to have been a promotional party to promote a new album, and the Clones of Funk played, but Bootsy didn't. He merely "hosted" which is not what I paid money for. If I had known what I was paying for I wouldn't have bought the tickets.

Bootsy didn't pick up his bass!

    by Notgood2345 on 11/1/17Howard Theatre - Washington

If you expect to see and hear Bootsy perform, don't attend this show. He came onstage, sang a few hooks, and left. The Clones of Funk were great. Bootsy, not so much.

    Bootsy Collins was awesome!!!!

    by 1sexybev1 on 9/1/16Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

I didn't go to the concert, but my husband did and he said it was everything he expected and more. he also added that they should be at the stone soul next year. My husband never dances when we go out and he admitted that he was out of his seat the entire time. I'm really mad I was unable to capture that. Lol

    Great show!

    by Apache510 on 8/30/16Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Bootsy Collins put on a great show!! So glad I had the opportunity to see this funk legend. I loved all his flashy wardrobe changes and his guitar solo was amazing. But I really loved the end when he came out in his Raiders jersey and showed his fans some love by coming out into the audience to party with us! We love u Bootsy!!

    Bootsy! Bootsy!

    by frodop on 8/29/16Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Bootsy and his Rubber Band are totally worth it! Go check them out. He wore a Marcel Reece jersey at the end. Dug that! My heart was touched by both him and the band, all of whom were way beyond excellent. The soundman maybe could have turned everyone down a notch because it was so loud that is was kinda washing out at times, at least at the middle of row 11 orchestra level. It was maybe just the mix as heard from that location. The person I was with agreed, but that was just some of the time and it didn't take away from the mind-blowing performance that Bootsy and his band brought. I mean, the Paramount has incredible sound, so I'm just nitpicking one tiny thing from where I was sitting that really didn't bother me, except that I've done live sound, and sometimes you do have to compromise, and sometimes you can't hear what every spot sounds like from where you're sitting so, anyway, what the heck do I know? Hells ya! Unbelievably great show...Highly Recommend Both the Band and the Venue!!

Bootsy Collins and his Rubber Band was incredible

    by BootsySuperFan on 8/29/16Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Bootsy Collins is still the ambassador of FUNK! He is unparalleled on the bass and obviously picked the best of the best for the band. I just saw G. Clinton a month ago and I love him too, but BOOTSY was 100% showmanship while delivering music at the highest level possible. You know someone is the real thing when they sound transcendent live, and he certainly did. All of that with his infectious smile, his undeniable love for what he does, and of course his gorgeous costumes! Bootsy -- we love you in Oakland!
