Not many people get a second coming out party, but Bonnie McKee is no ordinary recording artist. The pop songstress released her debut album in 2004, but took a break from performing to write hits for Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Ke$ha before returning with her 2013 single, "American Girl." The Perry connection is evident in her fashion and performing style as she matches an eclectic, no-rules look with bright, anthemic pop songs that are instant crowd pleasers. On 2013's Jingle Ball tour, ticket buyers in select cities got an exhilarating preview of what concert crowds can expect in the future, with McKee featuring "American Girl" and her "inbetweengle," "Sleepwalker," along with a show-stopping medley of her past hits for other artists, including "Teenage Dream," "Roar," "Hold it Against Me" and "C'mon." McKee got her start young as she was classically trained as a child and signed her first record deal when she was 16. That deal with Reprise Records turned into 2004's "Trouble," an album whose name came to symbolize her early career struggles. During this time, she also landed several acting roles, including guest starring on "CSI:NY."
