    Rock on!

by TheMotleyLeppard on 9/20/15Shoreline Ampitheater - Mountain View

Won tickets to this show from 107.7 The Bone. They do this every year and I've wanted to go for the last couple years, so, I was very glad to have finally gone. This year's lineup was Def Leppard, Styx and (local Bay Area rockers) Tesla. Tesla opened the show. They were good, not great. I'm a fan, especially of their classic stuff, which is what they played, but their performance seemed a little bit worn-down. In their defense, they were still extremely enthusiastic to be there and they were probably just tired. I don't think they really do tours of this magnitude often anymore. Styx, well, can't say I'm a big fan, but they were SO MUCH BETTER live. The all capitals is entirely intentional. The main reason I was looking forward to seeing them, was simply because they come to the Bay Area so often, it's like, if you like classic rock and you live here, you should be able to say you saw Styx once. After last night, I would gladly go see them again! Def Leppard were the headliners of the night. I first saw them last year in Concord when they co-headlined with KISS. In fact, there were just three notable differences in their performance now, as opposed to then: Longer set, significantly fuller venue (99% sold out) and Vivian Campbell FINALLY seems to be doing better in dealing with his cancer. Especially happy about that last one. They were awesome last year, they were awesome now!

    Awesome; all 3 acts

by huka56 on 8/7/14Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

I've seen Boston a few times and this is the first time they were able to re-create their studio sound; all songs sounded different enough as live, but the musicianship, Tom playing the organ solos live, the band, the singer, all around great great show!! Doobies are always great, and how can you go wrong with an opening set of Eagles songs

    Boston....Blah

by Anonymous on 8/6/14Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

The concert started off great! Don Felder was fantastic! The Doobie Brothers took me back to the 70's. Boston, on the other hand, was more instrumental and placed music you would see at an IMAX Production rather than at a concert. We actually left early...and I've never left a concert early. On a whole, I would recommend the concert because of Don Felder and The Doobie Brothers, but with Boston as the Headliner, I would not recommend.

    Farther than far out!

by strangeteacher on 8/5/14Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

Musically, this is one of the finest rock concerts I have ever attended, and I've been rocking since the 60's. Got there on time to see Felder's Hotel California which was superb. The Doobie Brothers were outstanding, playing every hit I remembered and some I didn't, but even those were great. Boston just blew me away. Such fine tuned, professional artists of their craft in every respect. I've always loved the their music, but I came away with new found respect and appreciation for the music. Great, great concert. Will definitely see them all again, I hope.

Bone Bash XV - Doobie Brothers were awesome!

by TeesyK on 8/5/14Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

I admit I was disappointed when Steppenwolf dropped out and was replaced by Don Felder. However, Felder was surprisingly good and I enjoyed his set - particularly Seven Bridges Road. Next up was The Doobie Brothers and man were they ever awesome! They kicked it off with Jesus is Just Alright and kept it rockin' throughout the entire performance. For me they were the best performers of the night and they played so many of the songs I know and love. From Rockin' Down the Highway to China Grove to Black Water and so many others. Boston was good but coming after The Doobie Brothers they just didn't measure up in my opinion. I will say I loved the bass player because he was full of movement and looked like he was really enjoying himself - many bass players are not nearly as animated. They also have a female guitarist who did a bit of the vocals - not that she wasn't good but I just don't equate that with the sound of Boston. Not my first Bone Bash and highly doubt it will be my last.

Boston, Doobies not up to par

by Tinman1058 on 8/5/14Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

Though the bands seemed to have some energy, the mix at Shoreline was awful for this show. You normally want a lot of emphasis on the guitars from Boston, but they were drowned out by too much bass to the point you could hardly hear the guitars. The good news, the price of the tickets, so I don't feel as bad as I would have if it had cost more.

    Awesome Vocals

by ScottsValleyBear on 8/5/14Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View

This show was spectacular! All three bands poured out 3, 4 and 5-part harmonies all night long! Don Felder played a dozen Eagles tunes, the Doobies played many of their greatest hits, and Boston (who rarely get to California) ROCKED!
