About
BOBBY V IN CONCERT:
R&B heavyweight Bobby V continues to set the vibe with his smooth vocals, romantic lyrics, and red-hot productions like "Slow Down" and "Beep". It's been nearly ten years since he dropped his chart-topping debut album Bobby Valentino, and he still possesses the same on-stage energy and charisma that made him a star. Whether he's busting out "Hands on Me" or encouraging fans to "Grab Somebody", Bobby V never fails to impress on his must-see tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Bobby V, a.k.a. Bobby Wilson, grew up in Atlanta on a steady diet of Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and the Isley Brothers. These influences inspired him to become an R&B singer, and he got his start in 1996 as part of the youth R&B quartet Mista. The group had some success with a hit single "Blackberry Molasses", but after an album release stalled out Bobby left the project to attend Clark Atlanta University. While in school his demos attracted the attention of Puff Daddy and Ludacris, and before long he was signed to Island Def Jam. He made his album debut as Bobby Valentino with a self-titled LP in 2005 -- the album was an overnight success that peaked at No. 1 on the R&B charts and scored him his first chart-topping single with "Slow Down". Two more chart-topping albums followed in the decade, producing a string of popular tracks including "Anonymous" and "Hands on Me". Since then he's remained a regular chart presence with collaborations with Twista, Lil Wayne, and Playaz Circle. In 2013 Bobby released the Peach Moon EP to critical acclaim, supporting the album with a string of sizzling performances on tour.
