    Bobby Bare Jr.

by Cindy30640 on 7/22/15Mercury Lounge - New York

The band was absolutely great. 3 piece and sounded as good as the fancy schmancy 10 piece with all the horns and accordians bands. Loved it. Glad he came to the City. Was my husband's father's day present.

Bobby Bare Jr was wonderfully unusual as usual

by ZapFish on 9/29/10Mercury Lounge - New York

starting with the entrance at the door, there was bobby, white cowboy hat and all. totally accessable to all. shaking hands, speaking with strangers and just being a real person. we moved to the main room for Blue Giant and i was taken aback. these guys were a great surprise to me! very hip, full band, great sound! and NO CONTACTS for the lead singer who played blind!!! lol - great stuff !! bought their cd and really dig it. Bobby Bare Jr took the stage and began his set with low lighting and his guitar and proceeded to show his multi talent musicianship. He brought the crowd up slowly and just kept turning up the heat. By the time all was said and done there were 7 band members on stage and i had a head full of music the size of a watermelon! TWO THUMBS WAY UP FOR BOBBY BARE JR !!! His mastery of conducting and his haunting voice has a way of sticking to you like "that gum in your hair!" ~ thank you for a great time and a great show! love the new cd, havent taken it out yet !!!

    Fun, rocking show

by CDawgg on 9/29/10Mercury Lounge - New York

Bobby Bare, Jr. ripped it up with 3/5 of Blue Giant as his backing band (along with his own drummer). The show was louder and more rocking than I expected, and he stuck mostly to new stuff. A very solid, fun set. Afterward, he invited us all out to a bar, and worked the merch table himself! Very accessible and cool.
