About

We hold memories in our blood. It connects us. It defines us.

Jacob Boehme is a choreographer, dancer and writer from the Narangga and Kaurna nations of South Australia. When Jacob was diagnosed with HIV in 1998 he reached out to his ancestors in search of answers.

Blood on the Dance Floor explores the legacies and memories embedded in our bloodlines and each person’s need for community and connection. Examining the way in which blood defines a person, Boehme questions how our most precious life source can both unite and divide us.

Jacob Boehme’s contemporary voice pays homage to the ceremonies of his ancestors whilst dissecting the politics of Gay, Blak and Poz identities in a visceral narrative that channels time, space and character. Blood on the Dancefloor is an unapologetic physical monologue.

    Best Concert!!

by kennyandchill on 3/25/16Outpost - Kent

Was amazing! I even got to meet Jayy and Dahvie. They were the sweetest people ever. Plus, the concert it's self was not crowded! Sadly, the opening acts were like maybe 3 or 4 hours and Jayy and Dahvie were only about a hour. Honestly, all I can say it's an amazing experience! I would love to re do that night over and over! Best Valentines Day I could ever have with my friend!

by Anonymous on 7/6/14Emerson Theatre - Indianapolis

I recently went and saw botdf.I met both Jayy and Dahvie and they were both super sweet, down to earth people. The show itself was a lot of fun with the crowd surfing, water guns, and ballons. They were very energetic, and interactive with the fans. Most of the adults were having just as much fun as the kids.

    BITCHCRAFT TOUR WAS GREAT.

by poppopvanity on 6/30/14Crocodile Rock - Allentown

The bands were great with the exception of the Millionaires, they were a bit x-rated for an all ages show that I brought my 12 year old granddaughter to! All the other acts were excellent!

by photokim78 on 10/7/13Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

This band and all the opening acts actually spent time with their fans! Who does that? This band does! You really feel the love and appreciation that they all have for the people that got them where they are at.

    BOTDF is amazing!!

by Never2old2dance on 10/6/13Deluxe at Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Such huge personalities! Amazing stage performance! I never get tired of attending their concerts. And the members themselves are incredible! Always taking time to spend with their fans. Reaching out for hugs and lots of fan interaction. A lot of bands could learn some vital lessons from these guys.... DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!
