    Blindside

by FalloutScreenprintDotCom on 9/9/11Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

Its been an few years and a bit of a hiatus since I saw these guys last. They proved that they've still got what it takes to perform. They put on the same show for a hundred people at altar bar that they put on for a few thousand people the last time I saw them. Altar bar has a top quality system that in my opinion surpasses the quality of their peers in the Pittsburgh area.

    Blindside-d

by blackjackgurl on 9/6/11Sokol Underground - Omaha

My first Underground show. I didn't make the first two bands that played at the venue, so I can't review them. I got there in the middle of "Listener" one of the 'bands' that played. I did not enjoy them at all. It was more like poetry reading than music. They didn't seem to use most of the instruments on stage. The band "Write this Down" was the best band by far for the night. They had too much bass but you could still make out what they were singing most of the time.. Blindside I was very disappointed with. Along with too much bass (couldn't decipher most the the songs) they played way too many unknown songs before they played any popular ones. (Better off listening to the CD) I was ready to leave halfway though the set. Plus they had a super annoying flash photographer that seemed to go off every few seconds, blinding people. Apparently they haven't heard of of high ISO digital photography. The venue is pretty small (probably didn't help the acoustics), not a lot of seating in the Underground. They serve alcohol also. The bathrooms are pretty gross. I prefer the Auditorium for concerts, it is slightly nicer with better vantage points to see the performers.

Listener was the only good thing...

by JDKD on 9/5/11Sokol Underground - Omaha

The only band worth mentioning was Listener. Every other group sounded exactly the same, and by "the same" I mean worn out and not fun. Check out any Listener show you can find. Blindside was great once, not any more.
