I've been a big fan of Blaze and his solo work since leaving Iron Maiden, so when I heard he was coming to tour in the US I was thrilled. Even if your not familiar with his work, with a ticket price of $15 ($15!!!), if you like heavy metal in the slightest, you owe it to yourself to check him out. The venue was on the small side, there were tables so we got food during the opening acts. I really liked Creation's End and picked up there CD at the sales booth, while Man The Destroyer didn't really do it for me. After that we found some space on the floor a few feet from the stage and around 9 Blaze exploded onto the stage and the show began. The man is still in top form, and he put on a hell of a show. Over the next couple of hours he played a mix of songs from Wolfsbane, Iron Maiden, and his own solo work. I probably would have preferred more of his solo stuff, but there's really too much great material to pull from, so I was more than satisfied. You could tell Blaze was genuinely thankful for everyone who came out; I don't think he was any less happy to play in front of fifty fans over thousands (though thousands is what he really deserves). Bottom line, if Blaze is playing a show near you, check it out. Just do it, there's absolutely no reason not to.

    We Are The Clansmen!

by VikingFuneral on 10/31/11Jaxx Nightclub - Springfield

OMG, What a Great show! I am so glad I went. Blaze is awesome live because he is REAL. He is ONE OF US! Not a fake, phony, poser, wannabe. Blaze ROCKS. Blaze and his band played for almost two hours, then after the show they went to the bar and talked to fans, signed autographs, posed for photos with fans, etc. Very down to earth, personable, sincere in his dedication to his fans and commitment to heavy metal music. It is so obvious that Blaze really APPRECIATES the loyalty and support of his fans, and tries very hard to return that devotion. Blaze played 18 songs, including seven Maiden songs and several Wolfsbane songs. Ever the consummate professional, Blaze and the boys played a ROCKING show, even though the crowd was very small due to some unexpected bad weather that kept most fans away (luckily I only live three miles away from the venue). Actually, this worked in the favor of those who did attend, as it became a very intimate vibe, with Blaze giving his all as if he were in front of a hundred thousand people, but it was just for us, this small little group of hardcore fans!! Totally awesome!! If you are a fan of REAL music, you need to own all of Blaze's catalog. Five studio albums ("Silicon Messiah", "10th Dimension", "Blood & Belief", "The Man Who Would Not Die", and "Promise & Terror"), two live CDs ("As Live As It Gets", and "The Night That Will Not Die"), and two live DVDs ("Alive in Poland", and "The Night That Will Not Die"). And of course you MUST have his two albums with Iron Maiden ("The X Factor" and "Virtual XI"). Blaze also did several albums with a band called Wolfsbane way back when. If you are not on board the Blaze bandwagon yet and are unfamiliar with his music, I would recommend starting with the two Maiden albums; "Silicon Messiah", "10th Dimension"; and the "Alive in Poland" DVD. Also don't forget the single "Virus" (great song) from the "Best of the Beast" CD, and if you can find it, the Japanese version of "The X Factor" is a two CD set with some nice extra tracks on the second disc. If you can manage to catch Blaze live, DO IT!! Blaze Rocks!! LONG LIVE BLAZE!!

The Clansman is even better live!

by Manontheedge on 10/29/11Showcase Live - Foxborough

Blaze sang a great set list of around 17 songs which included even songs from his Wolfsbane days such as Manhunt. It was great to hear him sing The Clansman and The Brave. Very energetic performance. I was very happy when he said he would be giving autographs and taking pictures. The lead guitarist at the show Rick Plester was great and nailed the solos.
