Blackjack Billy was formed in 2011 by a group of Nashville movers and shakers who previously penned songs for big names like Tim Hicks and Love and Theft. They made their debut in 2013 with "The Booze Cruise", a surprise hit in both the US and Canada that was one of the year's top-selling independently released songs. Their first EP Get Some peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, generating major buzz and drawing the band out for extensive touring. They followed up in 2014 with their debut album Rebel Child, which spawned popular singles like “Blood, Sweat and Beer” and landed them on major tours with groups like the Eli Young Band. Blackjack Billy's rise continued in 2015 with "Why God Made Summertime", the debut single from their highly anticipated sophomore album.
