Blackberry Smoke on Tour

Though they've had their biggest success in the country market, the guys in Blackberry Smoke are rock 'n' rollers at heart. When they hit the concert stage, that becomes immediately apparent, but of course, so does the twangy side of their sound. Ultimately, what comes across is a roots-rocking blend that incorporates the influences of classic Southern rock, '70s/'80s heartland rockers and yes, a dash of modern country. And whether they're delivering a chugging good-time tune like "Rock and Roll Again" or a reflective ballad like "Let Me Down Easy," what comes through the loudest is the band's authenticity. These ol' boys are the real deal, playing it their own way with no nonsense and no rock-star moves. And since they do exactly what they feel, don't be surprised if that extends to covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Little Feat, The Grateful Dead or Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Blackberry Smoke in Concert

Blackberry Smoke has always done things their own way, rising to stardom by building an audience from the ground up, remaining resolutely independent and staying true to their roots. The band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000, with singer/guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist Paul Jackson, and brothers Richard and Brit Turner on bass and drums, respectively, and that lineup remained intact into their breakthrough and beyond, adding keyboardist Brandon Still in 2009. They released their debut album, Bad Luck Ain't No Crime, in 2003, but it wasn't until their third album, 2012's The Whippoorwill, that Blackberry Smoke started achieving major commercial traction. Their next record, 2015's Holding All the Roses, reached No. 1 on the country charts as well as No. 29 on the pop tally, underscoring the band's pan-genre appeal. Their homegrown blend of Southern rock and country has remained authentic and untainted through it all.

    A glorified bar band

by Gipper999 on 3/26/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

Meh. Blackberry Smoke would be fun to see in a bar, or at an outdoor summer show, but this is not a headlining band. Songs are mediocre, indistinct, almost all sound alike. On the other hand, Duane Betts and Palmetto Motel, are a force to be reckoned with. Great musicians with strong songwriting. Can't wait to see them as headliners.

    A great musical ride!

by Chord2001 on 3/25/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

What a night! From our VIP experience right through the encore. Duane Betts and Palmetto Motel were fantastic. Having seen Duane before I knew how good he and his band are! Blackerry Smoke were awesome and the setlist was outstanding! They are, in my opinion, the best band going, both on and off stage. So, if you have never seen them live, go, if you have seen them live, keep going!!!!!!

BBS was great, but The Cap has a nazi security guard!

by DJNY on 3/25/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

Blackberry Smoke put on a great show; 2.5 hours no intermission! But the Cap head of security went way overboard and told my buddy “come back in an hour” when he stumbled coming in! They wouldn’t take any excuse!! The guy is 66 years old w arthritis for gods sake! Missed entire opener Duane Betts which we really wanted to see. Weve been going to shows there for years but we’ll rethink attending other Cap shows

    Such an amazing Show!

by Chuck on 3/25/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

This was my first time at the Capital Theatre, what a great venue! The opening act Duane Betts & Palmetto Hotel were really good. Blackberry Smoke is absolutely amazing! I discovered them when they opened for Zac Brown Band at MSG years ago and was blown away! I haven’t been disappointed by anything they’ve done since. They’re one of those bands that’s every bit as good if not even better! I will go and see them any chance I get!

Great Show, Great Sound, Great Venue

by MusicFan on 3/25/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

Blackberry Smoke show at The Capitol in Port Cheater was amazing. Easy parking, clean and nice venue, great staff, great sound, perfect length of Dwane Betts opening act, and excellent BBSmoke set. Honestly, it was perfect evening. I even had issue with my tickets and.both Ticketmaster staff and Capitol Theatre staff were very helpful and kind. We go to dozens of shows a year, and this really stood out as excellent. Thanks to all for a wonderful show!

    Smoke

by Koch on 3/25/24The Capitol Theatre - Port Chester

Great show as always at the cap Unfortunately the guitars were so loud that they muffled the vocals and the keyboard which is very disappointing but otherwise they put on a great show
