Musical tribute to civil rights era was moving & entertaining. Badu's mix of song from Wiz was very unique & stirring. Well done, TBAAL:)

Rating: 5 out of 5 30th Annual Black Music Concert was wonderful!
by Dahick on 1/22/13Morton Meyerson - DallasErica Badu gave a first class performance, the other performers and singer were amazing the your children and young adults performances were on the levelof adults with years of experience and training. The choir, the orchestra, the conductors were all excellent. The praise dancers, danced their hearts and souls out. I can't wait to see it on television.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Great Event
by Naturalhair on 2/16/11Morton MMeryson - DALLASThe event was awesome! it was a first for me, & would attend again. My friend & I were late, because I'd left da tkts @ hm, bummer, but da fact that the emcee was "long winded" allowed us to see the whole program, Ledesi is just "real" she was interacting w everyone on the stage. It was very necessary that the sponsors were acknowleged given the dire straits that Mr. Jackson reports about the program. My plea is that everyone should donate money to BLACK ACADEMY of Arts so that it can still contribute to the community & the children! for the one who said it was like Church...maybe God designed it that wy cause he wanted a visit from u? Nevertheless, if u don't physically go, please find it in ur heart to donate to this worth while organization. ( ur donation will b a tax write off)

Rating: 3 out of 5 Ledisi was awesome
by 1Sassy1 on 1/19/11Morton Meyerson - DallasI enjoyed hearing Ledisi sing. She was great! The choir singing was fabulous! I also enjoyed the praise dancing done by the young people. I just hate that it did not start on time. Then the lady emcee took an exceptionally long time verbally thanking every sponsor that was listed in the program and she had every west coast out of towner to stand up. I felt like I was in church listening to every visitor state their hometown. I wonder if she took the time to ask every sponsor to see if they wanted to be publicly recognized. Some people like to stay in the background but you won't at this event. I figured her being long winded was a stalling technique. Once the program started, it flowed very smoothly. I don't know if I will attend this event again. It started late and ended quickly.
