About

Legendary New York-bred singer-songwriter Billy Joel has toured only sporadically in recent years, but fans have plenty of opportunities to score tickets to see him in concert going forward -- if they're willing to head out to New York's Madison Square Garden. Joel signed an open-ended deal with MSG that will have him playing a concert at the venue once per month for as long as there's demand. And demand has never been a problem for Joel at he historic New York venue; he played his first show there in 1978, and had logged 46 concerts at the arena by 2013.
New York isn't alone in its love for the singer. Joel has long been established as one of the top-grossing touring artists in the U.S., and has sold more than 150 million records over the course his four-decade career. After recording a long string of hits including "Piano Man," "New York State of Mind," "Just the Way You Are," "You May Be Right," "Pressure," "Uptown Girl," "We Didn't Start the Fire," and  "The River of Dreams," Joel decided that he was done writing pop and rock songs. It's a decision he's stuck with; it's been more than 20 years since he's recorded a new pop or rock album. He's composed new classical material instead, while continuing to play songs from his catalog in concert.

    A phenomenal musical experiencd

by 4th time on 4/17/24Petco Park - San Diego

First. Sting was terrific and his backup singers and harmonica player also jaw dropping. Billy Joel was awesome. Unsure about covering two songs with his wide array of hits, but the opera piece was a good add. Lots of energy and a great time.

Petco Park sound was not good.

by MM on 4/17/24Petco Park - San Diego

Billy Joel and Sting both did an amazing job but the sound at Petco Park in San Diego just echoes so bad that it sounds like you are listing to a different song in each ear. It is meant for baseball and not concerts.

    Billy Joel needs to prioritize

by Gberry on 4/17/24Petco Park - San Diego

Billy Joel started 1 1/2 hour later, had Sting do more than a warm up…STING WAS THE BEST PART OF THE SHOW! Once Billy Joel came out to sing (9:35 pm), he started by singing other songs not his own (for what I paid to go and hear)… than he started to introduce his band, followed by asking STING to come out and sing with him (by then it was raining pretty hard) lastly he started to promote his new music 🎶 … at that point we decided it was not worth being cold&wet and left the show. 👎🏻

    Classic concert

by Macy Luna on 4/16/24Petco Park - San Diego

I have been wanting to attend a Billy Joel concert for many years but didn’t want to travel to NY. I’m so glad I purchased tickets on the ground level and experienced this incredible concert. I knew almost every song & loved singing along with the band. Sting was also amazing. If you love classic soft rock music from the 70s & 80s this is the concert for you.

    Terrible Seats!

by Disappointed J on 4/16/24Petco Park - San Diego

When I purchased my seats, I filtered no obstructed views and guess what I got to look at during the entire performance? A giant Jack in the Box on a big yellow pole.

    Dynamic Duo!!

by Lena on 4/16/24Petco Park - San Diego

One hell of a show! Both Sting & Billy Joel were in harmonious vocal shape! Both were extremely engaging, entertaining performers with a plethora of crowd-pleasing career tunes and excellent improv skills. Only gave them 5 star rating, because that is the upper limit here. They both went above and beyond all expectations, even during the rainy part of the concert, they carried on regardless! The best concert of legends of my youth that I have been to in a long, long time!

Fabulous show - dancing & singing in the rain!

by Leslie K on 4/16/24Petco Park - San Diego

We had a great time! The show was fabulous - Sting and Billy Joel were both so engaged and committed to interacting with the crowd and breathing new life into their classic material with extraordinary back up musicians and singers. Just a wonderful time in a great venue! I feel so lucky to have been there.
