    Amazing Performer!

by Irishblueeyes on 8/18/12VFW - Silsbee

I have seen Billy Joe Royal perform in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi and have loved every minute of hearing him sing. His voice is one of a kind and I have missed seeing him perform. I have tried to locate concerts online without success. Is there anyone who knows how to find out where I can go to see him perform one more time? No distance is too great. Thanks to all of my fellow fans!

Oct. 3, 2009 in Pocahontas, AR Billy Joe Royal had a ecxcellent show and really entertained the audience. His band is very enjoyable to watch also. Billy Joe and his band really know how to entertain. We all liked the way he performed and danced while singing all his songs. My favorite is 'He'll have to go"....

Billie was Good, Ronnie was excellent

    by McDowellFan on 7/16/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

We sat in the fourth row and it was great. Billie Joe Royal was good and enjoyable, but Ronnie McDowell was as good as I was hoping he would be. His stage presence and ability to relate to the audience was wonderful. I also was impressed with the picture he drew and painted. I wished Ronnie had sang more songs, his own and Elvis's both. Finding out that his son is the drummer in his band was also exciting information. He is so fortunate to be able to travel with his son. The band was excellent with both Billie Joe's songs and Ronnie's songs. I have admired Ronnie McDowell for years as an entertainer and would love to see him again. The ballroom was very nice, but the casino itself was too smokey for me and my party. Thanks for wonderful evening. The casino itself is very beautiful and the setting is as beautiful. Scary L

    Ronnie McDowell was fantistic

    by muffyfoxx on 7/16/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Ronnie McDowell Is a great entertainer.Great singer, funny. I loved his stories. He involves the audience. Never a dull moment. He really puts on a good show. I had originally bought the tickets to see BJ Thomas, but he couldn't make it so Ronnie filled in for him, I was disappointed at first because BJ is my favorite singer, but Ronnie was great and I enjoyed the show very much.

A GREAT NIGHT WAS HAD BY ALL!

    by BASQUEBOY on 7/16/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

On Saturday, June 27 I went to see a classic performer named Billy Joe Royal. I have always loved his 60s hits. "Down In The Boondocks", "I Knew You When", and "Cherry Hill Park" were great Billy Joe Royal hits from the late 60s. I didn't know much about Ronnie McDowell other than he had a hit in 1977. The song " The King Is Gone" was a song written and sung by McDowell to lament the death of Elvis Presley. Billy Joe Royal came on stage first and was impressive singing his 60s hits along with his country hits from the 70s and 80s. Billy was the one I came to see and he was very entertaining. But Ronnie McDowell stole the show! He sang very well and could sing like Elvis and Conway Twitty. But the most impressive thing he did was to totally connect with the audience. He interacted with individual people and got the crowd into his performance. Ronnie caused the crowd to laugh and be very entertained. All in all, I came away feeling very satisfied with both performers. I would definitely attend another show by these two singers!
