Bill Kirchen and Too Much Fun Tickets

The musicians in these bands are phenomenal! Too often "bands" are singers with a persona and little more. These musicians, the singers, guitar players, bass players, drummers and the multifaceted talent they all have for switching up their contributions are impressive and incredibly entertaining. The music was shared with laughter, interaction with the audience and talent on a scale most have not encountered. The last song of the evening included all of the musicians, from both groups. They played together as if they had always done so, each contributing and supporting the others and offering the audience a rare peek into the fun and sounds that can be had with top notch musicians invested in the music and the experience. The big stars and their big venues leave much to be desired after having an evening like this. This experience was alive, responsive and unforgettable. More of these gentlemen and more like their kind of talent and entertainment.

I'd been trying to see Fred Eaglesmith for a couple years, but always seemed to miss him when he played in the area, usually at Jammin' Java. I wasn't familiar with Bill Kirchen, but all the reviews I'd read seemed positive, so figured I'd get tickets, even if I just stayed for the opening act. Fred was fantastic, and got a positive response though it seemed a lot of people in the audience weren't familiar with him. I think he got a lot of new fans after the first couple songs. Bill Kirchen was great and I'm glad I discovered him. I picked up his live CD at the show and definitely would see him in the future. The Birchmere is a great place to see a show.

We went to see Fred but also enjoyed Bill Kirchen. Fred is one of a kind and plays some of the most creative music I've ever heard. How does he come up with those lyrics? His performance was too short, but he was the warm-up act. Bill was terrific and is one heck of a guitarist - and also has a great sense of humor. We enjoyed the entire show. Hope to see them again soon.
