Big K.R.I.T. on Tour

Southern Rap is not dead, and Big K.R.I.T. is here to prove it with his Digital Roses Tour with special guests ELHAE and PRICE, making 32 stops across 24 states in the U.S. This tour comes off the release of two major projects in 2022 for K.R.I.T.: Digital Roses Don't Die, a solo project that comprises 17 songs including the single "So Cool," and the joint-venture with Wiz Khalifa and Girl Talk titled Full Court Press. Known best for his tight delivery and down-south themes, concertgoers describe K.R.I.T.'s stage presence "like no other. . . that never disappoints," and promises to deliver a "top shelf performance (with) good vibes and great fans." His style is influenced by Southern rap legends like UGK, Smoke DZA, OutKast, Three 6 Mafia, and Ludacris, but K.R.I.T. has spent years carving out his own influential and impactful space. His breakthrough came in 2010 with his single "Country S***." The song was remixed by Ludacris and Bun B a year later and sent waves through the hip-hop community. In 2011, Big K.R.I.T. was named one of 11 rappers to XXL magazine's Freshman Class. In perhaps the most loaded year since the magazine started naming their freshman class with a list that included Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Mac Miller, YG, and Lil B, K.R.I.T. separated himself from the pack with his freestyle cypher. A year later, K.R.I.T. was one of a half dozen rappers to feature on A$AP Rocky's "1 Train" (other features included Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, and Action Bronson) from the album Long. Live. ASAP. Despite a saturated track, K.R.I.T. distinguished himself yet again with tight delivery and precise rhymes that lended to his rise. Since 2012, K.R.I.T. has fed his fans with a steady stream of projects, releasing nine albums in 10 years.

Big K.R.I.T. Live in Concert

Born Justin Scott in Meridian, Mississippi, Big K.R.I.T. will tell you himself you can hear the Southern influence in his music. K.R.I.T. learned music at an early age, even playing the cello in his younger years. He was rhyming and producing for years before he got his first big break in 2010. With the success of the single "Country S***," he signed with Def Jam and released his first album K.R.I.T. Wuz Here with features from Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa and Smoke DZA, among others. A year later, his album Return of 4Eva was praised by Rolling Stone and Spin magazines as one of the best projects of the year. However, K.R.I.T. did not establish himself in the mainstream until 2012 with his feature on "1 Train" and the release of his project Live from the Underground, which debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 5. His style was more reflective and refined on the substantive release Cadillactica (another Top 10 hit), which released in 2014. Shortly after, K.R.I.T. departed from Def Jam records and founded his own independent label, Multi Alumni, on which he's been releasing projects ever since. Since then, he has been producing a steady output of project releases and lyrical and production features for Rick Ross, A$AP Ferg, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, and J. Cole.

5 stars for the performers. Venue should cut a/c on sooner and higher when events are expected to have a higher concentration of people of color.
