Mercury Prize-nominated English singer-songwriter Ben Howard’s voice, songcraft, and intricate guitar work take the spotlight during his understated yet emotionally powerful live performances. FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“An absolutely amazing gig. Great atmosphere and spine-tingling performance from Ben Howard.”

“Incredible. I don't think any other word could be used for how amazing Ben Howard is. I had been looking forward to seeing him perform and play guitar for months and he surpassed my expectations. “

“Ben Howard is one of the few artists who is actually better live than on his album. Amazing show!”

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ben Howard was raised in a musical household where folk music held court. Inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkel, and Van Morrison, Ben began playing guitar and writing his own music at an early age, penning tunes in the highly melodic, rootsy style of his folk idols. His 2011 debut LP Every Kingdom  was a huge success both in the UK and the US, yielding the hit singles “Old Pine” and “The Wolves” and earning him two Brit Awards in 2013—British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist.

Ben Howard-Thank you for an ineffable musical journey!

    by Ty•n•Bella on 8/31/23

If any of you feel that you had a bad experience at a Ben Howard show, then it was your bad vibes or energy that set the whole tone of your experience. I am sure Ben could feel the energy of the crowd and immediately knew the cold-hearted ones would not get it. You want mainstream hits and never really listened to his music. Awareness is a beautiful thing and once you are aware, you will be disappointed in yourself because you took so long to get there. Ben has a connection to the people who are ready to listen and it's the most beautiful thing when you find it... It is truly magical!!

    Always fantastic

    by Tish on 6/8/21

Ben's shows are always full of emotion. He puts on a great show. It's a bit of a shame that people are giving their experiences a bad rating because he did not play what was expected. Here's the thing about Ben: he tours after dropping a new album, which is every few years. He will strictly only play the new album on tour.

    Ben Howard was unforgettable!

by Anonymous on 10/19/18Riviera Theatre - Chicago

The venue was very nice and it was pretty clean. I was in general admission so standing for 3 hours straight & being in the fourth row was well worth it in my opinion. Ben Howard is even more amazing in person and the energy he puts off makes me feel happy to be a fan of his. Best concert I have ever been to!! His vocals were even more amazing in person!! His music has helped me through so much & continues to help me.

Loved the slightly gutsier sound and the live strings. Great sounds from all the musicians.

I have never been to a concert where the live tracks sounded better than the studio produced record. Ben Howard and his backup band were truly amazing.

Didn't play all of his his

by VinceMikeLoc on 10/16/18Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

The opener was an hour long than it took him 30 from that point to come out. He only played one song from his first album, and not even a hit from it. Would not recommend. Huge let down from Ben Howard. Still favorite artist, but won't be going to see him concert ever again.

Hammerstein is a Great Venue..B. Howard not great

by MattyL on 10/15/18Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Let me start this by saying I am a huge Ben Howard fan and the Hammerstein Concert was the 2nd show we saw of his on this tour. The 1st show we saw was in Los Angeles. I also know this concert was for a tour that was set up to promote and support his new (3rd) album released this summer. With all that said, it was a disappointing show. Howard has made it well known he does not love playing songs from his 1st or 2nd album. It feels like he's going out of his way to prove a point by not playing more than 2-3 older songs out of a 14 or 15 song set. It's as if he's forgotten those who became fans in the 1st place. Everyone in the audience wants to hear them and the energy in the room changes completely when he does play an older song. People sing along, they hug those with them, everyone is smiling. You can literally feel the difference. And that lasts for 10 minutes then it's gone. At Hammerstein, people actually up and left the show, during the concert. Ben also left the Encore a song early, leaving his band on the state to finish the set, without him. It was quite awkward. Unless he changes it ways, it was likely the last show I will attend. I think it'd be valuable for him to understand, each concert is a chance to make an impression as it's likely someone's first ever concert and maybe someone's last. I've been to numerous concerts in support of a new album and the better acts always find a way to sprinkle in old and new. Hammerstein itself is a great venue and I'd go back for sure. The sound is great and has a cool feel about it.

    Sad about Ben Howard

by Giraffejnj on 10/15/18Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

The venue itself the seating on the balconies the seats were uncomfortable and it was unbelievably so tight... I wanted to run out after the show because of how much pain I was in sitting there for 3 hours... As for Ben Howard’s performance visual was amazing but as far as the songs that were played were all new.. He didn’t play any older songs which is why people come to shows is to hear some new and old.. I was ver disappointed..
