    Epic

What a showman! Ben played for two hours and then took requests from the audience. Very entertaining.

ben Folds Five rose above all expectations

by Anonymous on 2/4/13South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

The band played fantasticaly. I saw them in the 90's and the have really seasoned. Plus Ben's humor was great. The only drawback was people talking during the performance. I guess the topics were pretty important. But the band out shined them, they were that good. i can understand why they did not do an encore.

I'd been dying to see Ben Folds for years, so of course I was filled with excitement when I heard he was coming nearby. Being no more than 2 feet from the stage the entire show, I found it absolutely thrilling. I'm just sad that this unforgettable experience was marred by some rude folks chatting away during his songs, especially the quieter ones. But the performance itself was absolutely wonderful and I'm so so so happy that I went and was able to see it.

    no encore

by jbond1974 on 2/4/13South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe - Stateline

The audience was disengaged talking rudely standing still. no one danced or even pogo'd Ben was rude almost calling the crown "red necks" Tahoe is a central location and because the band didn't come any closer to major cities near Sacramento a lot of people had to come from out of town. Ben folds never seem interested..the band set was short and they didn't even play one encore. Ben barley addressed the crowd only to make two snide remarks. I was very disappointed as I love Ben Folds Five and this was my birthday present.

Ben Folds Five is the best band going today!!!

by jdalton on 1/29/13Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

There recent show in Las Vegas at The Pearl Theatre was simply fantastic!! I knew them from the mid 90s when "Brick" came out, but I didn't know what to expect. Their musicianship and song writing is the best I have heard in a very long time. Amazing talent at piano, drums, and base. Catchy yet well crafted songs and a great stage show with high energy. I bought their latest album "Sounds of the Life of the Mind" and love every song on it. Fantastic Amazing talent that I hope stays around making music for a very long time. Go see them if you can!!!!

Love Ben Folds Five, but not their best show

by Zatty on 1/29/13Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

I was SO excited to hear that Ben Folds Five got back together. I was going to see them in SF on Thursday, but something came up with work so I decided to go to the Vegas show since I would be there anyways. I probably should have seen them in SF. The show was barely half sold which really killed the feel - they should have booked this in a smaller venue. They just don't have the following in Vegas to play at the Pearl. I guess BFF was feeling the lack of energy because they only played for an hour and a half, with only one encore song. After the encore, they practically ran off stage. The sound was also really bad - I don't mind loud concerts, but you could hear the speakers buzzing. For such expensive seats, you'd think they'd have a decent sound system. Still, it was tons of fun to hear songs like Underground done live.

by ScottyLV on 1/29/13Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

Great show in a great venue. Awesome live band. Good to see them back playing. Ben Folds, Robert Sledge & Darren Jesse played some old favorites to a good selection os new tracks off of the new album The Sound of the Life of the Mind. Over all great show.

    Blown Away by the Musicianship!

by Wren14 on 1/28/13The Wiltern - Los Angeles

I didn't really know a lot of Ben Folds Five songs, but am so glad that I went anyway. I was amazed at how talented all three of the musicians were, especially Ben Folds. He is a genius. They are really energetic and fun live and have a great rapport with the audience on top of it being so solid musically.
