Pretty Weak....A Forgettable Set (and band....)

by SlopeRocker on 2/27/13Bowery Ballroom - NYC

Saw them open for Bob Mould. Thought they were pretty anemic. All of their work sounds the same. Nothing unique. Definitely will stay in the minor leagues unless they get some range and diversity within their genre. Drummer was great though and totally carried the band imo. Sound system was horrible. Bass and Guitar were totally muddy,

Bear In Heaven feels too good to be true.

by ExstaticInDaAttic on 12/7/12Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Bear In Heaven put us in heaven. Completely amazing show. They kicked out a sound that matches their jubilantly dangerous recordings but never played a note like it was just a repeat. This was the funnest show I've seen in a long while. I'm glad for me that Bear In Heaven is not as popular as they really should be because there was still a little room to dance. That'll change soon I'm sure. Bear In Heaven were as superb as any New Order show I've seen. nuff said. Small Black was the perfect of perfect warm up bands, meaning they were not merely a warm up. Full on beautiful fun. So great to see these bands writing/playing complex music that feels so freaking good.

    Great show, lots of lights

by steadyriot on 6/12/12Brighton Music Hall - Boston

I got tickets to this show pretty last minute, but it was definitely worth it. The band was great, playing both the popular songs and extended electric jam versions. The light show was very impressive for such a small stage. Lots of strobe and cool effects.

    What's with the singer?

by lazerfangs on 6/11/12Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

After this show, I can't even listen to their music anymore. what's the deal with the singer... He seems to be part bro, part five year old dancing for the first time. Have you ever felt uncomfortable when someone around you embarrases themselves? Take that feeling and multiply it by a hundred and you're getting close. I'm pretty sure at some point he yelled "Let's f**in ROCK!" I'm sorry but not even a rock and roll hall of famer talks like that anymore.

    Best show in years

by spaceydecember on 11/21/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Outstanding act. The lead singer is a prodigy with a lot of charisma and stage skills. The drummer was fascinating to watch and the whole set had an outstanding appeal. They sang almost every song from their album and they made it look so easy. The sound system was excellent, this might just be the best concert I've been to. I need to follow this band and many such.

Twin Shadow was worth it all...

by jturn on 11/21/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

The show was amazing...Sun Airway sounded fantastic live, but the real reason I went to this show was to see Twin Shadow. Although they played their songs at a faster tempo than their recorded versions, it was fantastic to watch them all together and to listen to these songs live. They are so incredibly talented and have their finger on the pulse of what is up and coming in the music industry. Hopefully their ticket prices remain low, as their popularity spikes. Thanks Twin Shadow!
