About

BEACH HOUSE IN CONCERT:

Dream pop duo Beach House plays a haunted rendition of ‘60s-style pop that is sure to captivate and mystify audiences wherever the group plays on tour. Singer/keyboardist Victoria Legrand is the focal point in concert, supporting her smoky vocals and graceful melodies with retro organ chords. Cutting through melodic basslines and minimal drum shuffles, guitarist Alex Scally weaves an intricate tapestry of chiming guitar notes. These sparse elements sound straightforward enough, but the group slowly adds layer after layer to create a climatic wall of sound on miniature epics like “Zebra”, “Norway”, and “Used to Be”. Ticket buyers can’t help but be swept off their feet as Beach House carefully constructs each intricate and atmospheric gem at their unforgettably hypnotic concerts.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

French-born vocalist/organist Victoria Legrand originally recruited Alex Scally to play bass for her Baltimore pop band in 2004, but he quickly romanced her away to form Beach House. Excited by the level of creative control they could achieve as a duo, the kindred spirits began composing their self-titled 2006 debut. Their atmospheric and mysterious take on classic pop struck an immediate chord with fans and critics, leading Pitchfork to name their debut one of the best albums of the year. The band signed to Sub Pop for 2010’s Teen Dream, which marked a major creative and commercial watershed for the band. While they’ve received increased attention in the following years, Beach House has kept their creative process unfettered: two best friends meticulously constructing one ethereal pop masterpiece after another. The results continue to transfix live audiences in concert and fascinate listeners on their recorded material, such as their critically praised 2015 album Depression Cherry.

    best i’ve ever seen

    by D on 9/28/23

at a festival in Phoenix in December ‘22, they were a headliner and closed for the first of 2 days, rained and was cold the entire day, they played at 10 and it rained through their whole set and it added to the atmosphere, the lights reflecting off the rain and the perfection of the performance, best show i’ve ever seen, somehow made the awful weather better

    Disappointing

    by Corey A on 6/13/23

Fell in love with the band. Love their albums. Waited two years to see them, and saw them at the Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque. It was an awful show unfortunately. I've seen bands use the lighting and effects to a stunning effect - i.e. silhouettes on stage like the Secret Machines. Unfortunately, Beach House's effects were cringeworthy and didn't really work. Nothing about the show felt natural.

i saw beach house at the bomb factory in dallas, 2022. it was easily one of the most entrancing and beautiful concerts i’ve ever seen. the lights were fantastic, they picked amazing songs from their newest album, OTM but also some amazing classics. they are super caring for their fans, and really brought the vibe and brought everyone in the room together. 20/10 would see again

    Intimate and Breathtaking

by Sophia on 12/9/22The Magnolia - El Cajon

The venue was smaller than expected, which ended up being an amazing experience. Online we seemed pretty far away but we weren’t really that far away from the stage. Their use or strobe lights and LEDs and fog machine was just *chef’s kiss* beautiful. The performance felt so nostalgic as someone who has been a fan for years. I would absolutely recommend them live, it’s a once in a lifetime experience.

    Amazing

by Cat on 12/8/22House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

Honestly it was euphoric. I loved every minute, and their set list generator creates such a nice set list. We listened to all the songs we had asked for, even some of their older ones.

    Wow

by Steph on 12/8/22House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

It was my first time seeing Beach House in concert. And I was not disappointed. Victoria can sure hit some high notes live. I saw them at the House of Blues general admission. Even though it sucks being short and having to adjust yourself in the crowd I think its best to see them at a small venue. It felt more intimate and it just sounded so good. They can really put on a show. I would definitely want to see them again.
