About

BARRY GIBB IN CONCERT:

As a founding member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb is responsible for some of the most beloved and iconic songs of the 20th century, sharing a songwriting record with none other than John Lennon and Paul McCartney for having six consecutive No. 1's  on the Billboard Hot 100. Gibb's distinctive R&B falsetto — virtually synonymous with the '70s — is as impressive today as it was 40 years ago, eliciting collective swoons from fans during performances of disco hits like "Night Fever" and "How Deep Is Your Love" at his 2013 concerts. Gibbs may be the only surviving Bee Gee, but he more than holds his own as a solo performer, carrying on the band's legacy with another eagerly awaited string of concerts on the Mythology Tour in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born on the Isle of Man in Britain, brother's Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibbs founded the Bee Gees after their family relocated to Australia in 1958. Featuring intricate vocal harmonies, the band's early sound closely resembled the '60s-era rock popularized by the Beatles, earning them a string of international hits in the swinging decade including "To Love Somebody" and "Massachusetts." It was the band's turn to disco in the mid-'70s, however, that brought them their biggest success — their contributions to the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack propelled the album to No. 1 in the UK and US, ringing in the heyday of disco and landing them an impressive five simultaneous Top 10 singles in the US — a chart dominance that hadn't been seen since the Beatles' mid-'60s run.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The Barry Gibb solo concert was awesome. I think he did a fantastic job on his own without his fellow Bee Gees... Barry can do a show solo and deliver. It was very enjoyable, he sounds great, and can still hit those high notes."

"Barry looked and sounded TERRIFIC! He hasn't changed a bit. His voice sounded better in concert than any record I could remember. The song list was beautiful, and I really enjoyed some of his earlier recordings."

"Wow — we were blown away by how amazing the voice of Barry continues to be. He really touched our hearts with his reaction to the crowd. Rarely do you see an entertainer display such humility while performing, but Barry was the exception."

    This Rocker Chic LOVED It!!!!

    by CD on 4/12/20

Saw him in California. I love all music but typically only go to classic rock concerts. But I bought these tickets because it was Barry Gibb and who doesn’t love that voice? I took my husband (he’s more of a Guns n Roses kinda guy). Let me just say that we were both singing (or humming 😉) to all the songs! And moving to the groove! And how he spoke to the audience before each song... This wasn’t just a concert. It was an amazing EXPERIENCE!! And yes, my husband loved it! If you ever have a chance to see Barry Gibb, take it. You won’t be disappointed- regardless of what music you like.

    Barry Gibb was GREAT!

by Chiagirl on 9/6/14Concord Pavilion (Formerly Sleep Train Pavilion) - Concord

Great show!! His voice is wonderful. Loved when Barry talked about his brothers, showed pictures on the big screen and the story he shared about the spoof Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake do on Saturday night Live.

Barry was as fabulous as ever!

    by April345 on 7/28/14Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I was amazed at how great Barry's voice still sounds. He sounded so much better in person than on CD or you tube. He can still hit all the high notes. Barry is a natural showman and really charmed the crowd at Hollywood Bowl. He had a great show and it was well worth the price!

Barry Gibb was awesome! A night to remember!

by kfccowgirl on 7/28/14TD Garden - Boston

This was a dream come true for me. I was never fortunate enough to see the Bee Gees perform and seeing Barry Gibb perform those same songs with tribute to his late brothers, was such an emotional rush! Can't wait for the next time he comes to Boston!

    A legend

by Globalgourmet on 7/1/14United Center - Chicago

I really enjoyed seeing Barry Gibb. He performed many of the famous tunes that he and his brothers played. He was quite personable too! The opening band, Jared and Mill was great! I felt it was truly worth every dollar I payed. I had looked forward to this for many months and was not disappointed .

    Barry was GREAT!

by Nananah on 6/30/14Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I loved the theme of the concert... MYTHOLOGY... it was a real nice history of the brothers three... plus little bro Andy. Barry sounded great... his voice was clear and steady and his guitar chops were pro. I liked that he had some of the family on stage with him... his Eldest son Steve... but his voice and look were a bit harsh for a Bee Gees audience... and Maurice's daughter Samantha... and though she had a great voice, she looked like a deer in the headlights... or maybe just uninterested. Aside for the amazing string of hits, including songs written for other artists... i.e. Barbara Streisand, my favorite moment was the video / live band sync of Robin's song... there were tears in my section of the audience... Barry's fan acknowledgement of the 'ladies from florida' was darling and very gracious. The Bowl was on its feet... and a fabulous time was had by all.... WHEN CAN WE DO IT AGAIN!

Barry Gibb: Mythology The Tour Live

by Audreen on 6/26/14Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Great show, he represented his brotheres well. The only unfortunate is that brothers Robin, Morris and Andy have passed into their next life. I and my husband truly enjoyed the show. It may be the last show for Barry, I hope not .
