Barrage Tickets

This fantastic high energy ensemble produced yet another spectacular concert at Meadow Brook. Each musician is so wonderfully talented. The two sets featured a number of Barrage standards that were perfectly executed and several new pieces not (yet) part of their discography, including a Cold Play cover and an African Spiritual played very successfully with the bagpipes. What's so refreshing is how seamlessly instruments like the violin, celtic flute and bagpipes can be integrated with the more traditional rock and roll guitar/bass/drumset that we're all used to. This is not a group to mellow out with. The main problem with the venue is that there are chairs in the way that prevent you from getting up and dancing.

I was surprised at how much choreography went into their production. Their energy seemed boundless and the music was wonderful. Barrage is an ensemble of performers with amazing musical talents. I hope to see them perform again.
