About

Barbra Streisand on Tour

In August 2019, Barbra Streisand returned to New York's legendary Madison Square Garden for the first time in 13 years; the show marked her first New York date since playing at Barclay Center in her home borough of Brooklyn in 2017. She warmed up by headlining London's British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park the month before.

"There are no fans like New York fans," the singer had said in a press release, "and I can't wait to return to Madison Square Garden to perform some new songs, some old songs, and anything I find in-between."

At 77, Streisand had little to prove — other than that she could still deliver a powerful performance. She has released 52 gold, 31 platinum, and 13 multiplatinum records in addition to five No. 1 singles. She has won a dozen Grammy Awards, three Academy Awards, five Emmy Awards, assorted lifetime-achievement awards, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Barbra Streisand in Concert

Streisand's first educational experience was in an Orthodox Jewish yeshiva. She drew upon that experience for ‘Yentl' (1983), the first major studio film a woman wrote, produced, directed, and starred in. Streisand struggled as a young performer but broke out in 1962 with a lead role in the Broadway musical ‘I Can Get It for You Wholesale.' This led to a long string of television appearances and kudos from the likes of comedian Phyllis Diller, for whom Streisand opened on tour.

Her 1963 debut album hit the Billboard Top 10 and earned her three Grammys, and she eventually became the best-selling female music artist of all time. Pensive and emotional singles such as "People," "Happy Days Are Here Again," and "The Way We Were" made her a household name. Hit collaborations like "Guilty" (with Barry Gibb) and "I Finally Found Someone" (with Bryan Adams) helped her remain a chart presence through the '90s. Her most recent album, ‘Walls' (2018), included the defiant single "Don't Lie to Me." Still an outspoken public figure due to both her politics and her pet cloning, Barbra Streisand remains a performer for the ages.

    The Way She Is...

by JJinChiTown on 9/19/19United Center - Chicago

Barbra can still mesmerize after all these years because she truly is an icon. She seemed at ease and comfortable with her Chicago fans and treated us with an evening of Streisand classics! There was something from every chapter of her long illustrious career, and the surprise duet with Ariana Grande made the crowd go wild...and...simply wild about Barbra was the way we were!

Best Live Concert I’ve Been To!

by Jules on 8/17/19United Center - Chicago

From the very beginning Barbra captivated the audience. Loved how she took us back in time with her stories, photographs, and tied her famous songs in with them all. Her terrific voice didn’t miss a beat. Great duet of an old Donna Sommers song with Ariana Grande was a very welcome surprise. Didn’t want my bucket list to end........

    A dream come true

by MEC on 8/14/19Madison Square Garden - New York

I come from Barcelona (Spain), 64 years old, a really fan of Barbra Streisand since Funny Girl opened. The days of the concert I was in New York with my family on a holidays trip. Can you imagine what I felt when I read that Barbra will sing at the Madison Square Garden just in the dates I'd be there? Usually this doesn't happen. The usual is to say: look she'll sing two days after we've gone or one day before we arrive. Amazing!!!! I can't still believe that this has happened. An unforgettable memory!! And the envy of all my friends that share with me this passion for Barbra Streisand

    Babs was GREAT!

by South of I-80 on 8/13/19United Center - Chicago

Barbra Streisand still has that superstar voice. She sang all the songs I wanted to hear. Orchestra was excellent. Paid good money for the front row to look at the front of stage wall 5+ feet high. Very disconcerting. When sitting, could not see the musicians, and only Barbra's head. Fortunately she was standing a lot of the time. Overall, a great concert spoiled by a poorly designed stage façade.

    Tickets

    by D. F. on 8/12/19United Center - Chicago

Concert was great, venue was great... easy to get to for out-of-towners like us. Four-star only because of the following... Because our tickets were will call I had to walk half a mile there and have a mile back from the entrance of parking to get my parking ticket at will call which was paid for through Ticketmaster. I am almost 70 so this was no easy feat!!! Also, I had nothing to tell me where I was supposed to park per the different costs for parking passes. ...offer a download for the parking ticket when will call tickets are purchased. Please give information as to where the parking lot is… I am still not sure I was in the parking lot I paid for.

    Perfection

    by A. G. on 8/12/19United Center - Chicago

Barbara Streisand is a LEGEND! And so was her performance. Flawless. A surprise appearance by Ariana Grande for her duet “enough is enough” (No more tears) was AMAZING! And so was the discovery Ariana was in the audience at a Barbara Streisand concert as a child. (Barbara showed her from the footage.) Smart people NEVER miss an opportunity! On a scale of 1-10, this show was 💯

    Barbra's the Best

    by D. R. on 8/12/19United Center - Chicago

The United Center was wonderful. We got in the surrounding area early, avoided the crowds, and bought t-shirts. The vendors were very friendly. After seamlessly scanning our tickets off our phones and getting into the actual venue, we ate a reasonably priced, delicious meal at Goose Island Brewery. The concert was great. Barbra was entertaining, as usual, and her voice sounded beautiful. All in all, a fabulous night!!
