About

With a delicate country twang that plays perfectly with the indie rock sound, Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses will murmur his emotionally complex songs to intimate rooms of thousands when the band begins its "Acoustic At The Ryman" Tour in early 2014. The group, originally called Horses, is known best for its melancholy lullaby-like “No One’s Gonna Love You” and the more anthemic “Is There a Ghost,” though they have several songs pulled from their four albums—"Everything All the Time," "Cease to Begin," "Infinite Arms" and "Mirage Rock"—that have enjoyed critical and popular acclaim. With the latest tour comes an accompanying release, "Acoustic At The Ryman," which pares down the sound even further.

Co-founded by former Seattleites Bridwell and then bandmate Mat Brooke in 2004, the Band of Horses collective has seen several lineup changes, with the current group including Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds. In an unusually democratic move, they collaborate together on song lyrics, instrumentation and show experience to create a lush, confessional sound for each concert and a unique feel for every album. Tickets are on sale now for the February shows. As fans scoop up seats on the West Coast, they are also no doubt replaying the beloved tunes from their significantly more upbeat 2012 album release, "Mirage Rock," which features the songs “Slow Cruel Hands of Time” and “Knock Knock” and isn’t a particularly easy album to play on the road. Bridwell jocularly laments his lack of musician prowess, but it’s clear from his latest works that practice is paying off, and his fans can look forward to many more years of his sweet, sentimental and lyrically complex melodies.

    Acoustic. Electric. Amazing.

I’ve wanted to see them for years. People all around me were asking how many times I’d seen them and sharing the many times and how they remember their first BOH show. What a magical evening I’m a lifer and will be on the lookout for their next tour for sure. Already shared with all my music loving friends as well. Cheers to getting music and concerts right, that is a gift for sure.

We absolutely loved seeing Band of Horses! Having the 1st half being acoustic and then switching to electric for the 2nd half, was a great experience. Absolutely a fantastic time and can't wait to see them again

    Amazing time!

by Bam Bam on 2/20/24The Factory - St. Louis

My wife, 9 year old and I drove from Indianapolis to Chesterfield/St.Louis to see BOH. The venue was beautiful and very clean. BOH played an acoustic set and then an electric set and I have to say that this was probably my favorite concert of theirs that I’ve been too! Absolutely amazing time!

    Amazing

by Joe on 2/20/24The Factory - St. Louis

Almost 20 years between seeing them. First time was maybe with 50-100 people. This time sold out at the Factory. Venue was awesome during the show although kicking people out in the cold 10 minutes after the show ended while they were waiting for Ubers was not great. 2 sets. Acoustic then Electric. Both were perfect. The singer mentioned his voice was gone since it was the end of the tour. Sitting second row I couldn’t tell at all. Band played awesome. Will definitely see them next time they come through.

Band of Horses always puts on a great show-one of the best live bands touring now. This venue was the cherry on top. Fabulous sound, beautiful well-designed space, friendly staff, ample free parking. A great night from start to finish.

    Great Show! Perfect Venue!

by Show Date 2/12/24 on 2/15/24Roxian Theatre - Pittsburgh

The venue was great. Got there early and had a spot close to center stage. BoH sounded amazing. They played some of our favorites and were friendly and interactive with the audience. We hope they come around our way again soon!
