The Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra put on a great show this Valentine's day. Tomasz Golka's rendition of the "A Hilarious Visit to the Barber" was really entertaining; it had audience members laughing and showed a great variety of characters. The BSO Opera Soloists had fantastic voices and really worked to bring their characters to life. I would recommend going!
Music was good, singing was bearable. I don't like opera but others do so it was more for them.
Musician were fantastic guest conductor was great.
I'm a first time BSO attendee and I brought my 2 little girls (9 & 6) and my mother in law. We were all awe struck by the beautiful music and performance. The solo cello was superb. You simply can't put the experience into words... My 9 yr old was brought to tears by the performance while I had goosebumps the entire time. We sadly had to leave at intermission as my little one was falling asleep due to a 4 hour shopping spree (; But we will absolutely buy tickets and go again. Everyone should experience BSO. Even if you're not that into music, the live experience is wonderful!
Fan favorites , indeed. "Die Meistersinger" overture, very nice. Bruch violin concerto, excellent. Can't miss with Tchaikovsky.
The music was beautiful, the singers were amazing, and the story was moving and memorable. Great performances!
The Bakersfield Symphony is always a treat but this performance of opera with the symphony was beyond any expectations
This symphony plays a great variety of music and it is always enjoyable. Very talented conductor and players. Nice to have them meet and greet as we entered.
Loved the experience as a first time Symphony goer. Will definitely return!! Only concern was that our seats were double booked and we luckily found other seats in that general vicinity but was irritating nonetheless as a first impression.
Awesome performance! I will definately do this again!
