Avishai Cohen Tickets

I have seen hundreds of concerts in my life....but, this concert ranks up there as one of my all time favorites. All the musicians were extremely talented and they were so into to playing their music together. The setting of the smaller Winningstad theater was ideal for this intimant concert ambience. The acoustics were were perfect.........the next time they are in town, I am there!

Avishai Cohen in concert with percussion, piano, vocals, and guitar was amazing. The eclectic range of music that was both original and historic was musically delightful and perfectly executed.

This group is so talented they really should not be missed if you can possible get a ticket. AND I'm not a Jazz expert but they sure took my breathe away. Everyone is talented and so charismatic they were a real bit of sunshine for a rainy night.

I'd heard that Israel is a great leader in technological and scientific innovation. I'd also heard that great work in the arts comes from the country, especially from its arts capitol, Tel Aviv. When I heard on KBOO radio that Avishai's Portland show would be a not-to-miss concert, I made sure my husband and I were there. And wow! are we thankful we made the date. Cohen and his 4-member band were outstanding. It was the best concert my husband and I have seen in a decade. He even said "better than Nina Simone!". Two hours of gorgeous, complex, melodic, surprising, satisfying jazz music led by amazing work on the bass. Every band member shone like a star, the 23-year-old pianist, the sultry, beautiful singer, the genius on the oud and guitar, and the other-worldly drummer/percussionist. I couldn't imagine how a bassist could sing while playing. Avishai did not only that, and did both masterfully; he also introduced and highlighted each artist in his group. He was gracious and funny, even making one audience member feel less terrible when a cell phone sounded in the moment of silence just before the the band started playing. I exhort readers to find a copy of any piece of Avishai Cohen's music and to prepare to be charmed and amazed. Seeing him and his band live was a real treat. We hope we can have them return to Portland

High positive engaging powerful energy that surged from these five extremely talented musicians. We left filled, enriched, and throbbing from our exchange with them. Thank you A.C. and oh so fine ensemble.

This was a tremndous performance by young, vibrant and extremely entertaining musicians. They enjoy their "work" and are so aware of the audience - something that is often missed by performers. Could have listened for 2 more hours!

Superb cohesiveness with non-traditional [western] rhythms. And plenty of wonderful harmony & melody. And that percussionist? geesh.

Avishai Cohen is truly one of the most gifted musicians of all time... he is also a great entertainer who likes to engage with people. I am always impressed by the talent he attracts to play with him. If you have never been to one of his shows you are missing out!

Such versatile, creative, talented artists; wove me into the fabric of humanity.

Wonderful theater - outstanding musicians. If you have the opportunity to hear this ensemble - Go. The percussionist was amazing - bells, urns, etc. The pianist was a star. The guitar player was spectacular. Really great musicians - each separately. But together - what a joy.
