Very easy to get in and out of the venue and the parking garage right behind it. My only difficulty was with the "Ticketmaster mobile ticket only" requirement. I needed to upgrade my phone to another system to download the Ticketmaster App, but my phone didn't have enough memory left to do the system upgrade, so I was stuck. Fortunately my daughter went with me and she had enough space for the App. For those who don't have the latest and greatest in phones, you really need to add another option for tickets. Other than that, our evening was lovely. I didn't realize how hard the violinist and the cellist hard to work to play this piece until I watched them. They deserved all their applause and more!
great music accompanied, after intermission, by an energetic and sultry pair of tango dancers
We always love visiting the Atlanta symphony! The experience is always amazing, from easy parking to pleasant ushers! I highly recommend visiting one of the performances.
The lawn was closed because of lightening. I had to leave because I had a baby. That would have been fine in the back of the lawn had it remained opened, but not crammed in the seats as people were made to do. Obviously it’s in the best interest of our safety, so the circumstances were only more unfortunately for me and not everyone. The symphony sounded great from the 2 min I was there.
We love the Atlanta Symphony and go a few times a year, usually to movie score shows. This John Williams tribute show used to be one of our favorites, but it just isn't the same once they moved it to the amphitheater in Alpharetta. While they can fit a lot more people, sight-lines are tough (the pit is too low to see the orchestra and the elevated seats are too far. Acoustics are obviously inferior and the sound is the main reason to a see a symphony!! This particular venue is also far outside of the city, has a terrible parking lot (a muddy field with 30+ minute entry and exit times), and this particular show involved a 30 minute entrance time to get through security, some of which was in the rain. The venue aside, we haven't enjoyed the traveling conductor they have used for this show. He introduces most songs with absolutely terrible jokes, some of which aren't even about the source material or John Williams in general. Bring the show back to Symphony Hall and use an ASO conductor!!!
This event was charming! The venue was perfect for a night of John Williams music.
Great program of John Williams music performed by a great orchestra in a great venue! What’s not to like?!
Everything was great, from the parking lot management to the audio to the music thank a lot!!!
The event was tainted because of rain. The Live Nation group was not prepared or trained properly for this. It was a mess. Concert started 20 minutes late. Patrons continued to file in for the next 30 minutes, disturbing any kind of enjoyment of the concert. After that they continued to move people around. By the middle of the second half, we could actually enjoy the music.
