Cats is a must see! Great fun for the entire family.
We took our granddaughter from Iowa to see "Cats". It was our first visit to the Cobb and we were amazed that our "cheap" seats were actually great! We were way up on the Grand Tier yet could see and hear just fine. Went to the Fox to see "Wicked" and wished we had binoculars with us. Definitely planning a return trip!
This was a wonderful performance my daughter and I will always remember. Coming from New York to Georgia, I have been truly happy with the amazing productions here and even comparable at times with Broadway. The singers were most wonderful as was the dancing, though sometimes the choreography was somewhat lacking, mostly it was terrific. There were times the cats stood still when it would be better if they were at least stretching or something more interesting to watch. Other than this rare moment the dancing was beautifully executed by the very talented dancers.
The musical Cats in Atlanta was incredible! The whole production exceeded our expectations! The cast blew us away with their talent! The singing and dancing was amazing from start to finish. It was a night we will never forget! I hope they do this again next year!!!
Absolutely wonderful performance. The Atlanta Lyric Theatre did a fantastic job creating the world of "Cats" and drawing us into the performance. Couldn't have been a better show.
Great value for the play- Some wonderful music and staging especially costumes and sets. The dancing was not a strong as some of Lyric's performances but still enjoyed the experience. Guess I enjoy the smaller theatre venue at Cobb County Civic.
This was a beautiful performance, from the choreography to the set and costumes and singing-- very moving!
After taking my children to see CATS at the Fox every year they appeared, I wanted to share the music and story with my 12 year old granddaughter. This was her first!! I can truly say this performance was right up there with the Broadway company!! The only issue we both had was the actor who played Rum Rum Tiger NEEDED A JOCK CUP!!! This was most noticeable and with his pelvic thrusts, who could not notice?? My granddaughter said nothing to me, but went back home and told her father (my son) how "gross" it was! Not for children for sure!
The set and the cast were fantastic! The performers of all ages did not disappoint us and some brought tears to our eyes.
I was very disappointed that they didn't use an actual orchestra, and instead pumped the music through speakers. At many points, the speakers were so loud that they drowned out the voices of the actors. Many of the actors had good voices and acting from what I could hear and see, but the dancing wasn't what I would consider great. I'm glad that we went, but feel that the price was a little higher than was justified for the performance.
