    This event was truly breathtaking.

by Maestra on 12/11/19The Soraya (The Valley's Center for the Performing Arts) - Northridge

I took my 8 year old niece and she was at the edge of her seat. She was mesmerized by the production. Our favorite part was the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies.

Great Costumes, Cool Set Design, No Orchestra

by JAL on 12/10/19The Soraya (The Valley's Center for the Performing Arts) - Northridge

Incredible costumes, great actors, very cool set design. Would have given it five stars if there was a live orchestra. This is a beautiful theater with incredible acoustics. The building begged for an orchestra.

    More than I can Dream

by DiamondRoads on 1/22/19The Soraya (The Valley's Center for the Performing Arts) - Northridge

One of the most beautiful experiences I have had. Again the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet has created things using dance and movement that I have never imagined I would see or feel. I love it all so much; I am still wishing that it had not ended. I will be looking for to experiencing more wonderful performances in the future. <3 Love

    Wonderful Show

by Sparrowhawk on 1/22/19The Soraya (The Valley's Center for the Performing Arts) - Northridge

This is the second time we have seen this ballet company, and once again it did not disappoint. Three acts of non-traditional ballet gave the audience a different perspective on appreciating how dance can unlock the soul. Act 1 seemed to be an expose on rhythm, lighting, and percussion instruments. It was as much a visual and sound experience. Act 2 was the most unusual of the three acts. Not so much dance as it was a presentation on perspective and done to the music of Chopin. It was truly mesmerizing. Finally Act 3 had much more of what I would call true ballet, done to a violin concerto. Personally I found it to be the highlight of the evening and in my opinion the most challenging dance of the evening for this unique dance company. If you were expecting the usual ballet fare maybe you would walk away scratching your head. But if you were open to some adventure in what ballet and dance could bring in a modern world of cell-phones and instant media, I think the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet hit close to the bulls-eye. Maybe not a home run, but at least a triple.
