I consider a Tourist game at McCormick field to be one of the best entertainment values you can get.
This was my first Tourists game, and I had a blast! There was a great turn out, and even thought the home team didn't win, everyone seemed glad to be there. I've never been to an game where they hand out free programs, and in my program, I won a $15 gift card to 131 Main Restaurant! During the first 3 or 4 half innings kids were throwing out little foam baseballs to the crowds, between nearly every inning they had folks out on the field doing contests, it was a lot of fun. I look forward to going again!
what a great time we had. the staff was very polite and helpful.the food was good. my only complaint was the beer was a little on the warm side.
The game was good and the seats and service received in the Bojangles Dugout seats made for a fantastic experience. I would recommend it to anyone.
You've got to love minor league baseball. Every seat is a great seat with unobstructed views of the action up close at a bargain price. One week before the game, we bought four reserved seats together right behind home plate just four rows up from the infield. That's baseball the way it's meant to be enjoyed.
We gave my husband a birthday present of tickets to an Asheville Tourists game that was a joint event with Lumus Harley Davidson's Cruise for the Shoes ride. We met other Biking families at the Harley Shop in Swannanoa where there was music and food set up, my kids got to look at bikes and old cars, meet Ted E. Tourist, and watch Daddy and the other participants leave for their ride. We reconnected with them at McCormick Field when their ride was over, and got to go into the park early. We talked to Aubrey from Ghost Town Harley, (who is my kindergarten son's favorite Harley girl), then we walked around and entered drawings, judged bikes in the show, and heard a local (and very good) blues/rock band. Before the game we met the man who threw out the first pitch. He was a 91 year old WWI vet named Andy who is the most decorated vet alive if I understood him right, and later became the mayor of Montreat, who was able to talk to my older son about the service. Then the ball game, actually a double-header, and my youngest was picked to Race Ted E. Tourist around the bases. I won a drawing for the anniversary Harley Davidson Coffee table book and a mug, and in between the games my husband and other riders rode a parade lap around the field! Needless to say it was a big time for the whole family, and a birthday present my husband will always remember!
Love McCormick field. Great family entertainment, awesome sitelines, incredibly priced. The youngsters in the the SAL are fun to watch and hopefully track to the Bigs!
An Asheville Tourists game has something for everyone. It has that family feel so kids of all ages would enjoy it. However, for individuals looking to kick back and have a good time, they offer some of the best brewed beers around. The food is delicious (I would recommend one of their hot dogs) and the atmosphere is perfect! Had a GREAT time!
Minor league baseball game was very enjoyable. Great seats, hot dogs, peanuts and cold beer.
Great game, very entertaining and family oriented. It's been a long time since my family and I have been to a minor league baseball game, but it definately will not be the last.
