About

ASG IN CONCERT:

North Carolina-based hard rock outfit ASG were originally known as All Systems Go, and ticket buyers at their hard-hitting, riff-heavy live shows see why. The band holds nothing back as they tear through songs like "Scrappy's Trip" and "Crosses" in concert, whipping fans into a frenzy with anthemic choruses, pummeling drums, and searing guitar lines. ASG has rocked fans at the Vans Warped Tour and the Volcom Tour, and their high-octane sets continue to make them a must-see act for adrenaline-junkies everywhere.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Hard rocking Wilmington, NC outfit ASG got their start in 2001 under the name All Systems Go. A copyright issue led them to adopt the acronym soon after their formation, and in 2002 the band made their debut as ASG with a self-titled demo album. In 2003 they signed with Volcom Entertainment and released the album Amplification of Self-Gratification, a strong collection of thrash-worthy tunes that earned them a regional following. That album and their raucous live shows landed them on the Vans Warped Tour in both 2003 and 2004, and in 2005 the band capitalized on their growing festival popularity with their critically acclaimed third album Feeling Good Is Good Enough. ASG’s heavy sound and regular Vans Warped Tour appearances have made them a favorite of the extreme sports set over the years, and they continue to be a soundtrack staple in surf, skate, and snowboard videos. In 2013 the band released their fifth album Blood Drive, a hard-edged slice of distorted stoner rock that formed a perfect addition to their blazing sets on tour.

With most bands, they peak in their first 2 releases. ASG came full circle with their later release "Win US Over". Modern day metal guitar riffs, driving percussion that isnt overdone, & vocals that range from mellow to hard. No one likes predictable and ASG seems to give something new with each full length release while keeping their own sound. In criticism I can add... the venue can make or break their intelligence, as sometimes the vocals barely come though. They probably could use backup vocals at times to capture the albums power & strength, but overall, do pretty well in getting the point across. The Guitar playing alone is worth a listen/ watch! Their energy and effort are almost always up to par, but if you catch a good show you can tell the difference.
