About

ARCHERS OF LOAF IN CONCERT:

Beloved indie rockers Archers of Loaf thrilled fans in 2011 when they reunited after more than a decade apart, and they continue to wow audiences every time they take the stage at their rare live performances. The talented quartet brims with energy and enthusiasm as they tear through distorted yet tuneful favorites like “Web in Front” and “Freezing Point”, and their rollicking performances always inspire hearty sing-alongs and raucous dancing among fans. Whether they’re playing cuts off their beloved debut album or performing tunes from their most recent full-length White Trash Heroes, Archers of Loaf always treat ticket buyers to a nostalgic concert experience full of upbeat indie rock classics.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Archers of Loaf formed in Chapel Hill, NC in 1991 and released their debut single “Wrong” the following year. The track was well received, earning them a deal with Alias records and paving the way for their follow-up single “Web in Front”, which became a college radio hit. The band’s rise continued in 1993 with full-length debut album Icky Mettle, a critical success that drew them out for extensive touring. Their 1995 sophomore album Vee Vee fared similarly, receiving heavy airplay on college radio and leading to a high-profile tour with Weezer. The band released two more albums – 1996’s All the Nations Airports and 1998’s White Trash Heroes – before calling it quits at the end of 1998. In 2011 Merge Records reissued Archers of Loaf’s four ‘90s albums, leading to a series of acclaimed reunion shows that proved they remained as vital a live act as ever.

    The Archers of Loaf Rocked

by KingLou on 5/3/12Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

A great set from an amazing band. The audience was really into it and the Archers of Loaf showed they hadn't lost a step. I only wish the show had been about 4-5 songs longer. Thats just me wishing I could have heard some of my personal favorites. The band played a decently long show & It was a lot of fun. Opening acts did a great job, too.

Titus Andronicus and Archers of Loaf dug deep to pull out a beautiful show. It was American indie rock at its best.

by odogz on 6/28/11Webster Hall - New York

great set list, great energy, the band sounds as good as they always did. Really fun show all around. my only complaint; Webster hall's sound quality isnt up to the same level as Bowery, MHOW or others.

    sound guy, please

by TMorr on 6/28/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn

Saw both Archers NY shows. Same problem both venues, you had to strain to hear Bachman's guitars, and the bass was hidden in the back. The band sounded so good, it looked as if they really enjoyed playing together again. The crowd was going nuts, screaming out lyric by lyric. But damn, turn the volume up. The band was playing with the "umph" but apparently the sound-guy had either a headache or a hangover. Please spin back through town with the volume jacked like it belongs.
